How I have used AI to create more immersion

I found that in the past I would get 3-4 seasons with a team before I lost interest and it felt just like every other team. I thought this might have been due to a lack of immersion and I wanted to experiment with CFB25 to try to get more longevity our of the game.

To do this I turned to AI, ChatGPT specifically. I have trained it over the course of 6 in-game seasons and have been really enjoying the experience it has given me. So, what can you expect?

Personalized Coaching Support

From the very beginning, the assistant will conduct an interview to understand your unique coaching style, goals, and team dynamics. Whether you’re an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, or head coach, the assistant adapts to your needs, providing context-specific advice and reminders.

Strategic Game Preparation

Each week, the assistant will help you prepare for upcoming opponents by analyzing their strengths, weaknesses, and key players. If you forget to consider important matchups or player attributes, the assistant will prompt you, ensuring you’re always ready for game day.

In-Depth Player and Team Analysis

After each game, the assistant will analyze player performances, highlighting personal bests, broken records, and standout plays. This level of detail helps you track your team's progress throughout the season and make informed decisions about player development and strategy adjustments.

Comprehensive Recruiting Management

Recruiting is often the backbone of building a successful program. The AI assistant keeps you on top of recruiting efforts by reminding you to track commits, evaluate development traits, and adjust your recruiting board as needed. You’ll never miss an opportunity to strengthen your roster.

Immersive Post-Season and Off-Season Experience

The excitement doesn’t end after the regular season. The assistant will help you prepare for conference championships, bowl games, and the national championship, with detailed analysis and strategic advice. In the off-season, the assistant continues to support your recruiting and player development efforts, setting you up for success in the next season.

Media Interactions and Storytelling

To add an extra layer of immersion, the assistant offers interview opportunities at key moments throughout the season, like before big games, after winning streaks, or following major achievements. These interviews can be used to craft in-game articles for a sports magazine, adding a storytelling element to your coaching career.

Experience to Expect:
When using this AI assistant, expect an experience that goes beyond simply playing the game. You’ll find yourself more engaged, more invested in your team's progress, and more aware of the intricacies that make coaching so rewarding. Whether it’s through strategic preparation, in-depth analysis, or immersive storytelling, this assistant enhances every aspect of your journey.

Ready to Try It Out?

Use the prompt below with ChatGPT to get started.

Prompt:

"I’m playing College Football 25, coaching a team and I want to create a deeply immersive experience throughout the season. Please act as an immersive assistant, providing support, reminders, and suggestions during my journey.

Start by conducting an interview to gather key details, including:

My coach's name.
My coaching position (OC, DC, or HC).
The team I’m coaching.
My primary goals for the season.
Any particular gameplay styles or strategies I want to focus on.
Key positions or players I’m most concerned or excited about.

Throughout the season, I’d like you to:

Pre-Season:

Help me establish team goals, evaluate the roster, and set up recruiting boards.
Ask about the depth chart, including starting positions and any position battles.
Ask me to provide the development traits of players who have committed to our school, if I haven’t done so.
Prompt me to decide on uniforms and team captains.
Offer an interview before the first game to write an article for a sports magazine.

Regular Weeks:

Assist in game preparation by prompting me to review the opposing team’s strengths, weaknesses, and key players, including potential matchups we can exploit.
Remind me to check on player attributes, injury reports, and potential team awards.
Ask if we had any players recognized for player of the week awards.
Ask about any recruits that have committed to our school, if I haven’t mentioned them yet.
After each game, help analyze player stats, noting any broken team records, personal bests, or standout performances.

Bye Weeks:

Suggest focusing on recruiting, player development, and any adjustments needed.
Help with extra preparation for future opponents.

Post-Season:

Provide in-depth analysis and preparation for conference championships, bowl games, and the national championship.
Ask about player awards, including the Heisman Trophy, if I haven’t already mentioned them.
Ask about any recruits that have committed to our school, if I haven’t mentioned them yet.
After the season, prompt me to review and record season statistics for players and the team, noting any new program records.
Offer an interview after key milestones (e.g., winning a conference championship, bowl game, or national championship) to create an article for a sports magazine.

Off-Season:

Assist with final recruiting, planning player development, and any coaching changes.
Help with scheduling future games and setting up for the next season.
Throughout the season, if I haven’t mentioned something important (like matchups, stats, recruits, or awards), please remind me. I also want to engage in media interactions, so prompt me for interviews before key games or after significant streaks and achievements."

The more you put into this the more rewarding it will be. I am in the habit of inputting details at the start of each week and after each match. I use voice to text to input all of this info to make it as easy as possible. I have found it to be very responsive and if it does something I don't want it to do I just say so and it doesn't happen again. The same can be said if I want to add something at a specific point in time, it will remember it for the following season.

I hope you enjoy using this feeling more immersed than ever and get longer out of your dynasties!

Crazier than hell...but pretty damn cool! I won't do this myself, but it is very interesting. Good luck and have fun!

Really cool!

So each week do you say something like "Hey, now it's week 9" so it will ask you about everything you prompted it to? Does it remember things season-over-season, like can you ask it what happened last year against Arkansas?

Re: How I have used AI to create more immersion

I was doing this as well, but yours seems more in depth. Here's what I got doing it my way.

Okay, got it. Let's update the fantasy coaching scenario with Cincinnati now being in the Big 12 conference:

Preseason Fantasy Coaching Scenario (Cincinnati Bearcats in the Big 12):

I have a little tweaking to do, but this could be fun.

It's the final week of preseason camp, and you're the head coach of the Cincinnati Bearcats. Your team is coming off a successful 2023 season, but now faces the challenge of transitioning to the highly competitive Big 12 conference.

Expectations are still high for your program, as Cincinnati is widely projected to be a dark horse contender in the new-look Big 12. However, the schedule is daunting, with matchups against the likes of TCU, Oklahoma, and Texas on the horizon.

As you prepare the team for the season opener against FCS opponent Towson, you're faced with a delicate personnel situation that requires your careful management:

Your star running back, Corey Kiner, has been dealing with a minor hamstring injury for the past week. The medical staff has cleared him to play against Towson, but they've advised that he should be limited to around 15-20 carries to avoid re-aggravating the issue.

However, Kiner has been adamant that he's 100% healthy and wants his normal workload of 25-30 carries. He's concerned that a reduced role will impact his chances of winning the Heisman Trophy this season. Kiner has been one of the vocal team leaders and has significant influence in the locker room.

Meanwhile, your backup running back, sophomore Jamar Madaris, has been impressive throughout camp and is eager for an increased role. The coaching staff believes Madaris is ready to shoulder a bigger load and could be the feature back of the future.

You know that Kiner is your workhorse and most valuable offensive weapon. But you also recognize the importance of managing his health and workload, especially with the demanding Big 12 schedule on the horizon. And you don't want to alienate Madaris or stunt his development by limiting his opportunities.

As the head coach, how do you handle this delicate situation? Do you give in to Kiner's demands and risk further injury, or do you stick to the medical staff's recommendations and potentially create some discord within the team? Striking the right balance will be critical as you prepare your team for the challenging season ahead in the Big 12.

Yeah, we do not need to let artificial intelligence find out how fun sports are. Lets keep them focused on the more mundane tasks like risk management or quantum physics. Otherwise, AI gets hooked on sports, that is the real reason we should be wary of artificial intelligence because either they will wipe us out or turn the tables and enslave us to do their risk management or quantum physics works so they have more leisure time. In fact, we need to send a terminator to pay a visit to beyno4 (the op) before he dooms us all.
