Coordinator Quarter Length

For those who’ve started as a coordinator and sim the opposite side of the ball, do you adjust the quarter length to match the play totals of simmed games?

It seems like simmed games average around 120 total plays. I achieve similar results by playing full games with 11-minute quarters and a 20-second accelerated clock.

I’m considering starting a dynasty as an offensive coordinator, since defense feels too easy on Heisman. However, I’ve never used the super sim feature before, so I’m unsure how it impacts play totals. Any advice?

120 plays for each team or both teams combined? 120 for both teams is low. Texas Tech averaged FBS highest of 79.9 plays per game while Navy was lowest at 57.8 plays per game. Navy vs Purdue (two lowest) would have run 116 plays while Texas Tech vs UTSA would have run about 158 plays.

Don’t think he’s trying to match real life. Think he’s trying to match all of the other teams in the sim engine.

Re: Coordinator Quarter Length

In my testing, Simmed Games average out at 114 plays from scrimmage per game. I use 11 minutes with a 15 second Accelerated Clock for playing both sides of the ball, and that gets me 118 plays per game. A lot less than real life, but pretty close to the sim numbers.
