CHdaughter**HOF/ALLSTAR** Slider Set 2010

A special thanks goes out to OS Members: Pberardi, ParisB, Triplethreat and Dabeeds in dialing these in!

Last year I made what I felt to be a very strong set built exclusively for HOF. What I've tried to do here is parallel that feel, user ability, and competitiveness.

Unfortunately, as discussed on another thread, the developers this year have rendered the USER HOF hitting level rather awkward and unbalanced without extensive use of the left stick. Due to this, I've built the set using All Star hitting to mirror the results and ball physics I found last year. (As an aside, it's interesting the game lacks a 'left stick influence slider')

Fortunately, this years game's engine already affords better hit variety, trajectory and physics.

Without further ado: (version FINAL V1.2 as of 6/4)

Using KNIGHT's V2 Rosters

So, when you speak about the Left Stick, do you use it, sometimes, all the time or not at all?

And this is pretty much where I need to be because pitching on All-Star is a little to easy for me.

Re: CHdaughter**HOF/ALLSTAR** Slider Set 2010

excellent. I enjoyed your slider set last year, so I'm looking forward to giving yours a shot again this year. I seem to be getting too many hits (averaging like 12-13 hits per game on offense) on all the other slider sets I've tried, so I'm hoping yours will be evenly balanced for me!

with hitting on all star and pitching on hof, are those settings just for the user or is it for the user and the cpu?

The setting represent the USERS level. As I understand it, hitting as All Star means the USER hitting level is effectively All Star (CPU pitching is All Star).

HOF Pitching means the CPU Hitting is HOF.

Ironically, even though I essentially started from scratch (for the most part) their seems to be a general consensus on how some sliders should be modified, and a rather large conflict on others.

As a point of reference, I aim for as a realistic results over the long term. e.g. I wouldn't mind of I had a ERA of 6.00 50 games into a season if I knew why.

A brief explanation on power at 6:

Every MLB is capable of hitting a homerun or have gapping extra base hits. From Jeff Suppan to Craig Counsell. One of the most thrilling feelings is a solo shot with a pitcher, (for or against) or a triple with your #8 hitter.

I'd assume the initial reaction would be that HR numbers would increase exponentially, but (as with last year) with the contact so low (and no solid hits slider) the % probability of HR actually diminishes, unless your somehow squaring everything up.

In which case your going to see a good blend of extra base hits, flyouts, and HR's; rather than the assumed inflated HR count. Or your too damed good for my sliders.

Input, rather good or bad is appreciated. If these are totally lame, let me know; but at least tell me why. Many of the explanations (as well as some other users great views) in how I view sliders can be found in last years extensive thread:

I will run with these. My only debatable issue is why is everyone zeroing out solid hits slider?

I'm constantly battling the cpu with 2-2 counts and therefore to avoid the dreaded strikeout, I have to hit the cpu's pitch which leads to a ton of weak hits with solid hits at two or three. On HOF, I had it at default and couldn't even conceive of lowering it. Is Allstar that blatant when it comes to solid hits?
