Jason Heyward rated too high too soon?

Just finished my 3rd season in franchise mode with the OSfullminorsV1 roster. I'm playing as my SF Giants, but I've noticed Heyward is putting up insane stats. In the first season, he was an All-Star, ROY, with .311 BA and 38 HRs. Next year, MVP with .329 BA and 42 HR. 3rd season, MVP again with .321 BA and 45 HR.

Now I like Jason Heyward as much as the next guy, but I think he's rated alittle too high too soon. I'm all for giving him superstar potential, but right now he is rated as one of the top 20 hitters in baseball.

lets see

- hes the number 1 prospect in the nation
-he homered in his first at bat which is a very rare feat
-scouts compare him to ken griffey jr

i think his ratings are spot on. when your compared to ken griffey jr. people are pretty much saying you will be the greatest of your generation

the way he hit that ball...definitely showcases his power...so would you have rated him D power and contact instead of C?

Yeah, I mostly sim through the regular season. I like to see how different rosters translate into stats through multiple seasons.

I agree Jason Heyward is a great prospect and has tons of potential. But he's still a prospect. Right now he's rated like a proven superstar. Yeah, he homered in his first at bat, which is rare, but since then he's gone 2-16 with 8 strike outs.

I'm not saying Heyward isn't a good player. But it's gonna take some time before he becomes an all-star.

Give him a A++++ potential, but rate him a bit lower for now please.

wrong, justin upton is the #1 prospect in baseball. faster and more powerful. heyward has better plate discipline but everything else is upton. also HRing in ur first at bat doesnt mean anything. he is a great PROSPECT, but he is still just that, a prospect.

Re: Jason Heyward rated too high too soon?

Actually I dont think Justin Upton is considered a "prospect" anymore as he has played a full season and is no longer a rookie... "prospects" (to me anyway) are those who still have rookie status/rookie eligibility

Justin Upton has a ton of power, but Heyward has more power. They are close, though.
