John Madden for the defensive skills he brings and the goal he can score every now and then, seemingly whenever I need it the most.

Owen Nolan is on my every new franchise for at least the first year. He always ends up scoring 20+ goals no matter who he's with on my 2nd line. It doesn't even matter if I play the games or sim them!

So yeah, those two are the veteran cornerstone of all my new franchises.

Drew Doughty for sure, I started with him on my team in 2K8 and I scored almost 20 goals with him. I love how mobile he is! I had him paired with Nathan Paetsch and surprisingly, they were very good together. I think I may try it again with NHL 11 and see how it goes.
