got my popcorn ready

The real question is: Is this a slander campaign against Cam so he does not win the Heisman?

Re: NCAA looking into the recruitment of Cam Newton?

If the NCAA has known about it since last September, we're in the clear.

I somewhat doubt a former Mistake player got Newton to decide to go to Auburn over Mistake. Even if we did pay for him, at this point it will at worst be a Reggie Bush situation where we'll already have a Heisman and maybe more.

However, it's not like Mistake fans haven't been a little upset since Cam decided to go to a program that actually wins football games. Being last in everything might get you to the point where you make up elaborate lies.

This.

Yawn.

To add to Cebby's post, the Auburn Compliance Department has known about the NCAA looking into Cam's recruitment since July. Seriously doubt he would have ever seen the field if anything harmful to AU could have been found.

Other than angry and disgruntled Miss. State folks and the jubilant Crimson faithful praying and desperately seeking anything to get rid of Mr. Newton and the resurgent Auburn program (because they are RUNNING WITH THIS here in Bamaham).... Not a whole lot to this.

Agreed. I'd like to think our compliance department wouldn't clear a guy if they knew about this.

What a fricken minute here. Why in the world would you just generally say Miss State fans and start throwing around accusations? It's not like I sit here and spout off garbage like Auburn fans all have an inferiority complex so they had to cheat to get Newton so they had a shot at beating Bama. See how ridiculous that sounds? I expect better from you guys. Miss State fans are EXTREMELY happy with their season and the way things have gone. If you want to get upset about an individual fan or player then fine but the generalization stuff is just dumb and uncalled for.

Mississippi State fans have been saying Auburn paid for Newton since he committed. Obviously not 100% of them, but this isn't exactly a new rumor.
