Bobcats Attack - NBA 2k13 Association (PS3)
Bobcats Attack: A NBA 2k13 Association Rosters: Bedwardsroy19's Sliders: Bedwardsroy19's Draft Class: Chiliad Quarter Length: 12 Minutes Sim Quarter Length: 12 Minutes Season Length: 82 Games Playoff Format: 7-7-7-7 Injuries: On Team Chemistry: On This thread will track the progress of my NBA 2k13 Charlotte Bobcats Association. I will be playing most, if not all the games. Updates will be done on twice a month as apposed to every game to allow me to progress faster. My 2k12 Thunder dynasty was great and very fun, but having won the title in the first year left me with little desire to keep going, I plan to take this years association much deeper. I ended up with the Bobcats based off a random selection process that included all 30 NBA teams. CPU trades are off for now to keep the rosters as accurate as possible, in the future I will turn it on for select period of time then turn it back off. I only control the Bobcats so the CPU has made some signings. I believe that is it for now, so....

Re: Bobcats Attack - NBA 2k13 Association (PS3)
2012-2013 Charlotte Bobcats Season Preview The 2011-12 NBA season left a bitter taste in the Bobcats mouth ans last season’s record-breaking embarrassment is still fresh with the team. However, the Bobcats are ready to shake off last season’s debacle and move forward to better days. Armed with a cast of fresh new faces, the Bobcats hope to put the misery of last season squarely behind them in preparation for a new day of basketball in Charlotte. Hoping to escape the lottery-bound cellar in the Eastern Conference, the Bobcats are hanging their hopes on youthful exuberance that could very well depose this team from being the worst in the NBA. There is still plenty of work to do as Charlotte was dead-last in the NBA in points per game and in the bottom three in nearly every defensive category last season. With a new coach and a few new pieces, the Bobcats are looking to rebound this season and begin to take the next steps to a brighter future for this team. Now for a more in depth look at the Bobcats roster for the upcoming season. Top Offensive Player: Even with the addition of a proven scorer in Ben Gordon, second-year point guard Kemba Walker is expected to continue to grow this season and will likely be the key for Charlotte offensively. In his rookie season, Walker averaged just over 12 points per game and 4-5 assists, numbers that will need to increase if the Bobcats are looking to improve in the win column. Charlotte’s offense as a whole last season was abysmal to say the least. Top Defensive Player: Although still young and incredibly raw, second-year player Bismack Biyombo possesses all the tools to be an elite NBA. Playing in a relatively thin frontcourt his rookie season with Charlotte, Biyombo led the team in both rebounds and blocks. Most impressively, Biyombo’s 1.8 blocks per contest ranked him eighth overall in the NBA in that category. Top Playmaker: With his ability to get to the basket at will and create open opportunities for teammates, newcomer Ramon Sessions might be the Bobcats best option at the point this season. In 19 starts with the Los Angeles Lakers last season, Sessions averaged nearly 13 points and over six assists per game while running the show for LA. Sessions has proven that he has the ability to be a solid floor general and will attempt to continue to do so in Charlotte. Top Clutch Player: With Corey Maggette out of the picture, Ben Gordon, should be the man with the ball in his hands with the clock winding down for Chatlotte. Kemba Walker could also get some consideration here based off his late game exploits in college. The Unheralded Player: With a team like the Bobcats, it’s hard to be any more unheralded than you already are. While he needs to put in plenty of work on the defensive end, 23-year old center Byron Mullins came on strong last season for the Bobcats. Starting the first 25 games of his career, Mullins led the Bobcats with six double-doubles last season. He may not be the answer long-term at center for the Bobcats but Mullins showed promise last season in his first real taste of consistent NBA action. Best New Addition: With the second overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, the Bobcats selected forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist who is expected to play a large role immediately in Charlotte. Right out of college, Kidd-Gilchrist is going to have his fair share of expectations heading into his rookie season. Luckily for Kidd-Gilchrist, he has all the tools to make an impact as a probable season-long starter in Charlotte this season. Where he can most help the Bobcats is on the defense end where this squad ranked in the bottom of the NBA in virtually every statistical category. He’ll likely be thrown into fire right out of the gate this season but the safe bet is that Kidd-Gilchrist will come out looking like gold when the dust is settled. Season Prediction: 11-71, last in the East. Hope will only get you so far, and again, this team is a) rebuilding, b) not markedly better than last year’s version. On the bright side, if Jordan lets Cho breathe, and things move in the right direction, their percentage of fans wearing brown bags over their heads will go down slightly.

Re: Bobcats Attack - NBA 2k13 Association (PS3)
Bobcats Update - Oct. 31, 2012 thru Nov. 11, 2012
New Season; Same Bobcats The 2012-13 NBA season began the way the 2011-12 season ended, with the Bobcats on the losing end. Charlotte dropped the last 23 games of last season, add in two losses to open the season and the winless streak reached 25. Charlotte opened the season with a 100-95 loss to the Indiana Pacers. Gerald Green and David West scored 24 and 22 points respectively and George Hill needed one more rebound more a triple-double. On the bright side for the Bobcats rookies Jeff Taylor and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist got their NBA careers off to promising starts. Taylor led the team with 20 points hitting 8 of 16 shots and 4 of 9 from three point range. Second overall pick Kidd-Gilchrist got his NBA career started with a double-double scoring 15 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.
The NBA schedule makers didn't do the Bobcats any favors as they opened the season with games on back to back nights. Charlotte's losing streak reached 25 as they lost to the Dallas Mavericks 109-94. Dallas used a big third quarter to put Charlotte away, led by Vince Carter; 23 points, 10 rebounds, Chris Kaman; 21 points, 10 rebounds, and Dirk Nowitzki 18 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Kemba Walker recovered from a rough opening night with a team high 21 points. MKG continued to play well despite having a strained quad scoring 14 points and grabbing 6 rebounds. Brendan Haywood chipped in with 13 points and 9 rebounds.
After a three day rest the Bobcats were able to finally get into the win column defeating the Phoenix Suns 96-87. Walker scored a career high 29 points in addition to grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing out 7 assists. "The streak was something that was in the back of all of our heads," Walker said. "We didn't want that streak to keep on with us, so to get it over with now was extremely important. But now that it's over we don't ever want to get to that point again." Byron Mullens had his best game of the young season with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Michael Beasley led the Suns with 19 points and Goran Dragic had 16 assists in the losing effort.
Eric Gordon scored 35 points along with 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals to carry the Hornets to a 92-85 win over the Bobcats. Robin Lopez was the only other New Orleans player in double figures scoring with 10 points, he also added 11 boards. Brian Roberts filled in for the injured Greivis Vasquez with 9 points and 14 assists. MKG led the Bobcats with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Walker added 18 points and 7 assists. 2nd round pick Jeff Taylor continued to impress with 15 points and 9 rebounds proving he deserves the starting spot on a roster heavy at the off guard spot.
For the second straight Saturday the Bobcats faced the Dallas Mavericks having just played the night before. It definitely showed as Charlotte fell behind 38-19 after one quarter and was never a threat in the game. MKG continues to perform well, against Dallas he led the team with 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Last seasons leading scoring for the Bobcats, Gerald Henderson, made his first impact of the season with 16 points in just 12 minutes off the bench. With rookie Jeff Taylor playing well and veteran Ben Gordon also vying for minutes Charlotte has a log jam at shooting guard that management needs to work out. Darren Collison torched the Bobcats with 17 points and 18 assists and Vince Carter and Shawn Marion led the Mavs with 18 points each in the game.

Re: Bobcats Attack - NBA 2k13 Association (PS3)
Bobcats Update - Nov. 12, 2012 thru Nov. 30, 2012
Charlotte wraps up November with 3 and 12 record As the NBA closes the book on the first full month of action, the Charlotte Bobcats find themselves in a familiar place, last. Currently sitting at 3-12 the Bobcats have seen flashes from their young talent base, but that can only take you so far. The only thing between the Bobcats the NBA basement are the equally poor Detroit Pistons(3-14). Without question the surprise team of the early season is the Washington Wizards(10-4). Charlotte got to see them in action first hand as the trounced the Bobcats 100-71. John Wall keyed the Wizards attack with 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists. Rookie Bradley Beal and Kevin Seraphin both scored 15 points and Seraphin added nine rebounds. Nene recored a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Kemba Walker led the Bobcats; who shot 32% from the field, with 13 points.
The Bobcats were able to recover the next night in one of the few bright spots this season as the beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 90-83 in Minneapolis. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had the best game of his young career with 29 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists to lead Charlotte to their second win of the year. Kemba Walker had a great all around game against the T'Wolves as well with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists. Ricky Rubio led Minnesota with 25 points but had just 4 assists, Kevin Love put typical numbers with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
After a two day rest the Bobcats welcomed the Memphis Grizzlies to town. In turn the they handed Charlotte the first of what would be 6 straight losses. Rudy Gay lit up the Bobcats defenders for 30 points and Mike Conley dished out 10 assists as Memphis took the easy 114-87 win. Walker once again led the Bobcats with 18 points and 8 assists, Brendan Haywood had his best showing of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds against the tough grizzlies tough line.
Next for the struggling Bobcats was a match-up with the Milwaukee Bucks. In one of the poorest defensive outings of the year Charlotte allowed 30+ points in 3 of the 4 quarters of the 122-99 drumming by the Bucks. Brandon Jennings sparked Milwaukee with 30 points, 7 assists, and 5 steals and Monte Ellis chipped in with 26 points, 7 boards, and 6 dimes. Jeff Taylor led the Bobcats with 18 points, all of which came from his 6 made three pointers. Kemba Walker narrowly missed his first career triple double with 13 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds in the loss.
Toronto was able to take advantage of the Bobcat's streak of poor play with a 114-82 rout in Charlotte. Former number overall pick Andrea Bargnani led the Raptors with 31 points, Jose Calderon out up an impressive 17 point, 14 assists performance as well. MKG led the Bobcats with 18 points and 7 rebounds.
A home loss to Atlanta brought the Bobcats streak to 4 straight losses all at home. Lou Williams torched the Bobcats for 40 points and Al Horford scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Hawks took the game 110-91. Kemba Walker, MKG, and Gerald Henderson all scored 16 points to lead the Bobcats, Walker added 10 assists to his box score as well. Henderson made his first start of the season in place of Jeff Taylor who was available but sat out the game with an ankle sprain. Walker also found his way to the injured list courtesy a bruised tailbone. He is expected to remain in the starting line-up but Ramon Sessions will see more playing time until Walker gets fully healthy.
After the loss to Atlanta the Bobcats were able to mix in a road loss to the Wizards, making the 0-2 against the surprise Wiz. John Wall once again keyed Washington to the win with 25 points and 10 assists. Charlotte was able to make this meeting slightly more respectable losing 102-95. Gerald Henderson scored 19 in his second straight start making a case for him to see more court time if not take over the starters role from rookie Jeff Taylor.
From Washington, the Bobcats traveled to Oklahoma City for their lone visit to the Thunder's home town. The defending Western Conference champs were without the NBA leading scorer Kevin Durant and defensive force Serge Ibaka due to injuries. Thanks to Kevin Martin, Russell Westbrook and an unexpected explosion by rookie Jeremy Lamb. Lamb who came to OKC via the James Harden trade exploded for 23 points in 11 minutes off the Thunder bench. Martin scored 27 and Westbrook added 19 and 10 assists in the 126-98 beatdown of the Bobcats. Reggie Williams and Kemba Walker each scored 17 points to lead Charlotte. Williams scored his 17 in 21 minutes off the bench. Bismack Biyombo continued to show improvement with 11 points and 9 rebounds backing up Brendan Haywood.
Charlotte used the travel day to lick their wounds before facing the Hawks for the second time in 4 games. However, unlike the first meeting the Bobcats were able to get victory 115-112 returning the favor Atlanta gave them in Charlotte. Ben Gordon had his best game of the season scoring 24 points in 19 minutes off the Bobcats bench including two key free throws to hold off a late charge by the Hawks. All together six Bobcats scored in double figures with Walker and MKG each adding 16. Walker also had 11 dimes, a career high, and MKG filled up the boxscore with 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. One of the keys to the Charlotte win was head coach Mike Dunlap tinkering with the starting lineup. With Atlanta's athletic front court Dunlap opted for Tyrus Thomas and Bismack Biyombo over Brendan Haywood and Bryon Mullins. Dunlap cited defense as the main reason behind the move and hinted it may not be the last time he makes the switch. The move appeared to pay off as Thomas scored 12 and Biyombo added 14 with each player grabbing 8 rebounds.
The Bobcats closed out November with a visit from the Philadelphia 76ers who ended any notions of back to back wins by Charlotte 110-95. Jrue Holiday took advantage of a less than 100% Kemba Walker by nearly netting a triple-double with 29 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists. Back in the starting line-up Byron Mullens had his best game of the year with 27 points and 9 rebounds. Henderson, Haywood, and Walker all scored 10 points in the losing effort. Season Stats
Injuries continue to bother both Ben Gordon who is out with a lower back strain and Kemba Walker(bruised tailbone). Gordon is expected to miss 1-2 weeks while Walker is listed as day-to-day. Charlotte kicks off December with two straight home games against the Portland Trail Blazers and New York Knicks. Later in the month the Bobcats face a tough west coast road swing with 4 games in 5 nights against the Lakers, Suns, Warriors, and Nuggets. The trip will be a real test for the young Bobcats, but should provide a good barometer of where the team stands.
