NBA 2k14 "The Eccentric Edition" - Superstar Slider Set

Update: August 21 - 2k Default Roster Slider Set *BETA*

This update provides lower field goal percentages as well as a more varied offense from the CPU (more jumpshots and fewer PiP, YAY!). These tendencies still need further tweaking (as do the new defensive sliders), but my hope is that they provide a better gaming experience than the previous sliders.

Important Changes
Shot Success Sliders
Defense Strength Sliders
AI Tendencies

Goals for Future Updates
- Further improve defensive rotations and reactions
- Fine-tune the CPU offensive tendencies
- Experiment with the Strength attribute, which will drastically impact the effects of the "Offense" and "Defense" sliders
- Overhaul the Game Speed setting (to increase the speed of animations and ball-movement); Tweak the Quickness/Speed sliders accordingly

What I'm Up To
Tweaking On-Ball and Off-Ball Defense
Fine-Tuning the CPU's Offensive Awareness and Tendencies
Testing the Game Speed setting

Game Settings
Difficulty - Superstar
Game Style - Custom (Start with Simulation)

If there are any noticeable problems that need addressed, be sure to report them here!

Any feedback is very much appreciated, as any help I can get expedites the fine-tuning process. However, be sure to keep the criticism as constructive and informative as possible. Try to point out what you are seeing too much of (ex. The AI attacks the basket too often), what you're not seeing enough of (ex. The AI does not go to the post often enough), etc.

Here's a simple resource I made to help depict what exactly "realistic stats" should look like:
NBA Stats to Replicate with Sliders (Update coming soon!)

Feel free to give my thread 5 stars and "like" this post if you enjoy my set. It shows others that these are quality sliders, and it makes me feel a little warm inside, too.

Enjoy!

I really liked your sliders on last gen. Could you update the NBA Stats to Replicate with Sliders?

I was planning on updating that as soon as possible. I won't have access to my computer until tomorrow or Monday, so it will be updated shortly after.

Re: NBA 2k14 "The Eccentric Edition" - Superstar Slider Set

I am currently working on the updated "NBA Stats to Replicate", so expect those to be posted later tonight. I broke down each stat into several different measurements. Each stat will be broken down into the following categories:

1) League Leader
2) Average of Top 10 Teams (To show what a top-tier team averages)
3) Average of Middle 10 Teams (To show what a decent/mediocre team averages)
4) Average of Bottom 10 Teams (To show what the bad teams averages)
5) Overall League Average (To give these numbers an over-arching context)
6) League Worst

Each of these categories will show the results from the 2013-2014 season AND the averaged results of the past 3 seasons combined. I have chosen to do this to get a larger sample (past 3 seasons), as well as to show the most recent figures (2013-2014 season) to see how the league numbers are trending. With this much information, I feel that I can most accurately display the stats we should be aiming for in NBA 2k14.

While I'm working on the numbers, I would greatly appreciate any and all suggestions related to the following two points:

1) What PS4 roster should I create sliders for? The 2k Default Rosters, or a certain custom roster?

2) What are the major gameplay complaints you have for this roster?

Even if you don't plan on using my sliders when they are eventually released, PLEASE take a minute or two and give me some suggestions!

Default Rosters.

You're an expert at making this game play as realistic as possible. I don't want to influence your approach to improving this game, and I'm always pleasantly surprised by your unique solutions.

Well thank you very much! I rather like the way you put it, "unique solutions". Some of the solutions I've found for 2k14's issues are certainly unique, and I can't wait to share them with you guys!

In the meantime, I'd like to apologize for the delay on the "NBA Stats to Replicate" I'm working on. I thought I would have it up by last night, but real life took away my free time from last night and today. The stats will be posted as soon as possible though!

NBA 2k14 "The Eccentric Edition" - Superstar Slider Set

I'm still working on my base set. I had no time to test over the weekend because I was in Milwaukee for the Fall Out Boy concert (which was OUTSTANDING, btw).

Now I will FINALLY have plenty of time the next few days to devote solely to finishing up my base slider set. Due to a few experiments I've been trying out with the sliders, progress has been slower than I would like. But don't worry, I'm getting very close to some amazing results, and I think you all will like what I've been cooking up!

My sliders will feature variations on a few key settings in order to cater to multiple skill sets and/or personal preferences. And I will also be posting some of the "insider information" as to why I set certain settings the way I did. I don't just want to give you guys a great slider set. I also want to help you understand some of the "how" and "why" certain changes do what they do so that you can tweak the settings to suit your own individual needs.

I may just post the base slider set on its own as soon as I lock in my initial settings, and then post the tweaks and explanations shortly thereafter. Or should I just wait until I have EVERYTHING ready and post it all at once?

Let me know what you guys think!
