I REALLY don't understand dribbling this year

So I'm about 10 games in so far and still can't wrap my head around pulling off decent dribble moves. Changing a lot of it to left stick which is supposed to be for movement and always has been in 2K feels really counter intuitive to me...

I'm a pass first PG so it doesn't bother me that much, but mixing right stick with turbo to left stick etc just feels weird.

What are your favourite dribble combos so far and what are the inputs to pull them off?

Thanks but I hate watching YouTube tutorials, would rather read so I can view the inputs at a glance

Have you been in 2KU yet? There a tutorial for several topics including dribbling basics.

I'll give you a quick rundown.

I think there's 27 dribble styles in the game which all have a few set combinations and timing windows.

You still can do most of what you could last year, but it's a lot more rhythm based so the timing of each flick or the RS or LS is the key.

I'd suggest going into 2KU freestyle and using some stars to see their dribble style, because most of them will be different.

If you have a specific dribble you want to learn just ask.

I'm struggling too. I'll second the 2KU recommendation, though I'm trying to just learn on the fly. Things feel really herky-jerky and disjointed at the moment. I find myself wanting to perform a killer cross with Tim Hardaway and instead just end up doing two separate crosses that don't flow well together. I'm a mess.

my biggest Problem is how to do an explosive first step after a Crossover or any other move. i. usually end up doing some stupid hesitation before starting the drive, which leads to the defender catching up again...

Are you already in motion when doing the crossover, or you saying you do a crossover from a standstill and just want to explode forward once the defender is caught leaning the wrong way?
