NHL 2K Capabilities Question

Before I make some purhcases, can someone tell me if there are any NHL 2K games where you can randomize the player names to make it all fictional players, or where fictional rosters exist? Also, which is best in terms of Create A Team options. Thank you.

Re: NHL 2K Capabilities Question

Only way to get fictional players in any game is to sim through seasons until all NHL players retire.

Or edit the players yourself. If that's your choice, go with 2K8, 2K10 or 2KHS, because the editors will make it go faster. The 2K8 editor is the only one that can remove the player photos.

There's also this "semi-fictional" roster for 2K8. If you're on the PS3, just use the editor to import it.

2K8's create-a-team is somewhat decent, but I haven't used it much in 2K10/11 so don't know what's better. I would guess 2KHS is the best option since it can actually be modded. Wait to see what the others say.

Re: NHL 2K Capabilities Question

My suggestion would be NHL2K11 on the PC. When the next version of 2KHS get released gameplay will be greatly improved. You need a pretty good PC though for full 60fps gameplay.

What system/systems do you have?

As snowdrift says using an editor will be the best way to randomize players.

I think it was just the default rosters, with a good number of players edited to have random names.

Avoid the PS3 versions. 2K10 crashes after one or two seasons on the PS3, and the PS3 version of 2K8 is missing the option to manage all 30 teams, which is essential because the CPU does an abysmal job.

I've always wanted the PS3 2K games to be a better supporter and tester of your tools. but man I've loved the custom music ability on 360. I wouldn't love 2K8 as much if I couldn't update the goal horns.
