Franchise Progression House Rules

Does anyone have progression house rules? After 2.5 years of a carry over franchise I've noticed that progression system is meh at best.

I've started with an idea of doing my own progression systems for minor league players only.

As of right now only thing I do is when I move a SP to RP is bump up pitching stats +7 points and give each pitch +2 mph

What does everyone do?

Re: Franchise Progression House Rules

Whenever I change a starter to a reliever, I give them +1 for all the per nines for every 5 stamina points taken off.

So for example: if a starter has 71 stamina, he'll get bumped down to 31 stamina and up 8 points for each per nine.

I'm 7 years in and I haven't had an issue. Progression is a little on the slow side, but it balances out over time.

The only thing I do is over the off-season, I will sometimes trade a pitchers durability to stamina 1 for 1. The idea being, if they're going to be trying to stretch out their endurance and pitch more innings, it's going to make them more vulnerable to injury and take them longer to recover stamina.

I play the game as released every year with no edits.

Re: Franchise Progression House Rules

You have to.

First thing I do when I get the game is sim 15-20 seasons to see if there are any bugs or if progression is fixed.

You have to watch for Stamina on SP

I also go through the top 100 prospect list each year and depending on age, potential, and who is in front of them in their organization I will edit them to be more MLB ready.

Generated players start off too low of an OVR, and take forever to get to the MLB bc of it.

Just to keep it realistic I will sometimes take the top couple picks of the draft and immediately make them MLB ready. You never see 19-21 yr old phenoms come from the draft. So I do it myself.

Re: Franchise Progression House Rules

Pretty sure most high draft picks still take 3-5 seasons to get to the majors in most cases.

Re: Franchise Progression House Rules

Usually at the all star break I Look at the stats of all the veteran players and ill give the regression points back to the players that are performing well. I just found that players like Howie kendrick who might be a World Series map would never even make it the postseason without regressing like 25 points.

In the offseason I will usually take one high potential prospect what didnt perform and lower his potential one grade and ill take on low potential prospect that performed and upgrade their potential.

Re: Franchise Progression House Rules

Thanks for this thread. Sad we have to have so many workarounds to get around legacy issues, just to have a decent franchise. Maybe one day we won't need stuff like this.
