Pitch Speeds not accurate in game

Just wanted to see if anyone has noticed that the pitch speed mph's are not accurate in play.

For example, a pitchers top speed may be 95mph. The game will list their fastball as 95mph but in the show, they will actually throw up to 97mph. I've went through and edited every pitchers mph by 2 to get a more accurate depiction of their pitch speeds while playing.

Has anyone else noticed this?

There is a 3 mph variance. If the pitcher has a speed attribute of 95 he may throw one at 92, or maybe 98. That's all that attribute is. If you raised it to 97 he now has a range of 93-100 mph.

Re: Pitch Speeds not accurate in game

I believe the in game speed is an average, not their absolute max. I have a guy who’s in game says 99 and he will throw anywhere from 97 to 101 depending on effort.

Thats my point, that a reliever comes in and throws 97 with max effort for most of his pitches. He doesnt have a 3 mile variance in which he also can reach 100mph.

Is this really a response? Bro, if you have nothing to add besides an insult, keep it to yourself. I thought it was an absolutely acceptable question.

We’re seeing different things, and per the devs the pitch speed shown is NOT their max speed. It can very dependent upon fatigue, confidence other attributes. There’s no way it stays constant, but if you want to change attributes...have at it.
