I'm not even a huge Guardians of the Galaxy fan and I really enjoy the game so far. There are some collision and clipping issues, but nothing major so far. The banter between the crew may very well be the best part of the entire game. It's not over done, it's just right. The gameplay is simple and it's fun. I like the added element of using the teammates to, if nothing else, change up the gameplay loop. It works for both combat and exploration. I'm playing on easy so I'm just savoring everything. Guardians is nothing revolutionary graphically. But visually, these bizarre strange worlds are like nothing I have ever experienced. I'm not into rock at all but the soundtrack and everything fit so perfectly. I'm only a few hours in but the game is easily a 8/10 for me.

I picked this up last night too. I'm into Chapter 4 (had to tear myself away last night so I could get some sleep).
I agree with most of what Junior Moe said. There isn't a particular aspect of the game that stands-out as earth-shattering, but the overall package comes together nicely - capturing a lot of the humor of the movies. There ARE some clipping issues (where you can get stuck) but the checkpointing is frequent enough that if I needed to restart from last checkpoint because I got stuck, it was no biggie at all.
I had been a touch worried about how smoothly the control of your teammates would flow during combat sequences, but it's quite well done. It does get a touch "button-spammy"; but thus far, it's not bad. As a note, this is NOT a game like Avengers where you are constantly fighting; it's more of an adventure game with fighting sequences.
The licensed music soundtrack is amazingly good. I want to just stand next to the jukebox on the ship and just listen to the tunes, lol.
I think there will be some replayability here; I'm already pining to see what happens if I make different dialogue choices (for the laughs more than anything).
IMO, I think this is a great game for folks that want "an experience" but it might feel a little less meaty for those that just want to plow through to the combat sequences.
This may very well be my favorite game released this year
that I have played.
