Madden 22 - The Day I Gave Up

Being someone who love's football and has studied football for a long time. I can't buy this game anymore from EA Sport's. I've tried every slider set you can imagine the game is broken. Filled with glitches among glitches. It's the absolute worst football game I've ever played hands down. Some of the best slider creator's have decided to leave this game alone and I don't blame them. If you want a better opinion be sure to go to YouTube. Look at the rants there's plenty of them. It's highly disappointing what they've did to this game. The amount of glitches and scripted game's especially in franchise mode is ridiculous.


It's not realistic it's not about skill and it's not football. It's heartbreaking because we the community have not had a football game worth buying in such a long time. I'm even more worried they will mess up NCAA Football video game's to come. The creator's for this game and the company itself should be ashamed of releasing this game out to the public.


Some examples, ratings/skills throw it out the window it doesn't matter anymore. The animations are poorly done. 50/50 balls for the CPU at time's can be guarded correctly, but then your player decides to not jump. You can be defending correctly and sure enough a glitch pops up to make you look dumb. On top of that everything they said they would do they did the opposite and it's annoying at this point. NCAA Football Revamped beats this game by a long shot.


Some of the best creator's of sliders over the year's have better sets to play when it comes to football game's from year's ago. Still I can't wrap my mind around what they're thinking. Okay, look at it like this. Creator's who do slider set's do it as a hobby, but why do we have to fix the game they get paid to create? They give us a video game of a base that think they is real. We pay money then we create it to be real cause they don't know what they're doing. The worst part is they've got the technology.


I'm honestly baffled by their lies year in year out. We watch the presentation some of who us who get to see the work being done or in process. I then sit there thinking wow looks alot like the last garbage released for the past several year's now. You say we got a new engine a new system, but it still plays the same. People are mad and when I say mad it's easy to see if you take time. Oh and trust me it's not "hate" it's reality that EA Sports can't face.


The prices the community pays is because they're forced to play this game because no other company has the rights to create this game. If any other company had the rights we wouldn't be talking about EA Sports and that's a fact. For the past few year's I've enjoyed NCAA Football 14/Revamped more than a Madden video game.


I don't get what happen? It's heartbreaking and I can't understand it. We use to have so much more in NFL video game's. Why is there so much features from the past not in this video game now? It's supposed to be EA Sport's it's in the game, but for such a long time it's become EA Sport's we don't care. If Madden player's can take time out of their life to help people enjoy this video game in some ways then the employees for the game can put the work in and stop being lazy.


NFL 2K5 had way more to offer the features from the old days we NEED back. We shouldn't have to rant or beg. It should be a must for a player's experience to feel the real depth of what football is and has always been. First thing's first what must be fixed is the performance engine. The video game's should NOT be based on SCRIPT. In real life game's are based on skill. We need stats to matter again. Look most of us are football nerds haha. We love stats we love to look back and see the records of the old. Importantly we miss the day's where we'd have a big game and it would be on a radio show or a talk show. If they were doing it way back then then you can't tell me it can't be done today. The console's of today hold more GBS than ever.


Us football fantatics love the smallest of things you think is pointless. That's what's created this whole mess with the EA community. Some of the new features brought to this game this past year was decent, but it didn't take franchise player's to what we need. Us franchise player's love to live in the moment of a real franchise. There's so much missing that we'd love to see again. This all need's to be fixed before NCAA Football video game's return because if it's going to be the same creator's it'll be a let down.

Just watch this so you know how lazy EA Sport's is and why we the community need a football game not some marketing begging for money billion dollar franchise that never cares. Atleast give the rights to 2K if you're not going to give us a decent football game. The presentation is trash and we've been playing the same game forever. I no longer care about the same promotional campaign bs advertisements we see every year. Madden 23 something has to be done. My expectations are not high very low in fact. Let's take NBA 2K for example. When starting a franchise the features are endless. Not to mention the presentation of each game. Every game has it's own identity and the scenarios carry out through the year. As for Madden they could care less because we couldn't pay. Yes, this is my favorite part. We couldn't pay to have referee's among shows in the game. Wrong! Not that they can't pay the fact they don't won't to pay. Again I ask how is this billion dollar franchise making these game's. Everything we hope for a game that we see in real life the smallest of thing's is left out. Which now I will say everything that make's football is not the smallest of thing's it's just football is not in EA Sport's video game's. It has become a game where they rip off people asking for more money as if we just walked into a casino. I'm telling you it's sick it's awful what they're doing, but some of the people keep this going. Not saying everyone just some. Don't know why because you definitely don't get anything from it the higher up's do.


Overall it's just really sad guy's that we don't have a football game we can enjoy. Don't say you enjoy it because most of the time you want to rock bottom your console through the ground. I just don't know what happen to football game's. I can't seem to wrap my mind around older game's like NFL 2k5 or ESPN Football etc. made better game's than we have now. I ask of you this. Stop believing what Madden creator's are feeding you because it's absolutely garbage. It's almost as bad as getting groceries and someone says it's not good for you but it's about moderation. Lol you know it isn't good for your health.


I've ranted enough the video is below views close to 3 million. Watch it believe it and stop letting this company feed you garbage. We deserve better than this and it's not because we ask for to much. It's because we're tired of getting used and being lied to. If you have to find ways to make something fun and force yourself to have fun then it's not fun. When EA Sport's starts talking football game's serious again that's when I will. By the way I still have nightmares of the created faces they give us the clingy look like a zombie no reaction same animation bullcrap. They expect us to believe that they're working hard when in reality we ain't fools. We just know they're going to keep lieing over and over again.


If a change happens in the future I still won't apologize for this rant. I've supported this company for year's not no more though not till they fix the game. I'll play game's from several year's ago. Trust me I'd have a better experience then what we got now. You definitely shouldn't waste your time on things that make you this unhappy. I think this is a wise quality of life choice for you. Maybe there are games from different genre's or even football games from the past that can scratch your itch. Take care sir.

I’m personally fine with this year’s Madden. Madden is my favorite game and I really don’t care who I inevitably trigger with my response. Can’t stress that enough. It’s not perfect but it’s obvious people forget it’s a video game and things can’t always be 100% on point as much as we’d hope. I do hate that they obviously care more about MUT than Franchise guys like myself. Also, the features that they always announce as new when it’s only new to the newer generations because they recycle old things they remove here & there throughout the years.

I have absolutely no idea why others think grown men (or anyone really) care that you’re not playing it or buying it anymore, though. This is a Madden Board. Not a diary. Seems like everyone wants a spotlight to say goodbye or grab attention. As they say, this isn’t the airport. No need to announce your departure. Online/competitive and MUT is their focus. I've accepted that. Thats really all a person can do.

The NFL is missing the boat by not allowing another brand to make a football game. I blame them for the state of football gaming more than EA. EA is doing what any other successful buisness would do. The NFL is costing themselves considerable revenue with this narrow minded approach.

I am guessing that this post will garner a range of responses, including everything from "nobody cares" to "you're wrong" to "same."

For what it's worth, I get it. Those of us who post on this old-school gaming message board are way more passionate about this hobby than is probably normal, and we all have different ways of reconciling ourselves to the directions that modern sports games have taken. This can be especially tough for older gamers who have been playing Madden since its very first iteration.

I might be able to add some insight on what's helped me continue to play and enjoy the game if you're interested in that, in which case, I'd just need to know what level you play on and what your top 1-3 issues are.

I've settled back into 22 after a return to 21 and lots of stops and starts along the way, but I feel like I've finally made my peace w/ this game & am happy to discuss how if it's useful.

I have a sour taste for this franchise now because they never fixed the preseason games glitch. The one where it gets stuck after playing the game and then you can’t save it. I have tried all the work arounds and it still does it. Sad for me because I actually did enjoying playing the actual game.

Lol shew! I totally understand your answer haha. Believe it or not I love playing online against people I find it entertaining and fun if you know how to do the play's. Let's face it I'm a franchise guy. Always will always be. In a positive way I'm happy with some of the features they brought back, but it just makes no sense that there are some game's that have company's who don't have billions of dollars who make better customization options, indepth franchise's, and more. EA Sport's it's not even the people on the side who develops this game's fault. It's more so the upper people because let's face it MUT make's a killing. You're probably right! Sorry if this post sounds like I'm screaming for attention or help. It's really made because I love football. I love football in real life I'm a nerd when it comes to the stats and the history they background the players all in general. The smallest thing's that nobody cares about at time's haha. Exactly! MUT is their main focus because they care about the money more than they do giving us a football game that is focused on the reality of what football really is.

Exactly!! 2K would blow them out the water. When I say that 2K is on another level when it comes to delivering graphics and game performance it's by a long shot. The features they give the 2K community is outstanding. Rather it be customization options to indepth features about teams or player's. They really go the extra mile with helping people have a great experience when it comes to the game of basketball.

When you go to the the franchise and you look at the face features for your staff or created player's it's the most cringy thing I've ever seen. Atleast this year they made it to where you can look back in the past a bit, but what the heck is that half time show. Whats going on with the injuries. They've created the same animations over and over with nothing else to give. Fornite has more animations then this game it don't make sense lol.
