Been playing the demo. Not sold on the control scheme. Skate 3 had the formula for success, why change it. I hope there is a alternate, Skate-like control scheme. I doubt it though. Its not a bad game. The camera angle is very similar to Skate 1. People complained and by the time Skate 3 came along, They had a winning formula. They went through the growing pains to find a good mix. This "dual foot" control or whatever else they are calling it, I'm not sold on it. Since video games have been a thing, we've used the controller stick to turn directions. This shoulder button turning is not really my cup of tea.

I keep trying to get into this game but I just don't like the way it feels as much as I do XL.* But these guys have put in a lot of effort, I'm hopeful they'll smooth it out eventually.

They do! It's called the Legacy control scheme. If you go into Settings you can change the controls to scheme. I think there are 3 options? Default, Hardcore, and Legacy. Legacy is the "flick-it" system that the Skate series had. There are some quirky issues with the Legacy controls and some moves they did not implement that you can only do with the default controls. As a Skate fan, I'm very happy with the legacy controls until I get used to the default scheme.

There is a Skate-like control scheme in the options, at least for PC. (edit: see post above)

I love the new control scheme. Makes it feel so much more rewarding, especially catching the flips.

Good video showing off the newest update which was pretty significant for the game.
