Re: Official: How's your WWE 12 Universe going?

Week 2 of WWE's new program, Thursday night ECW!

(note - I'm going to go with the same format that I used during my last RAW post, as I'm not really into the huge write up things. I'll post notes along with the matches, and keep you guys posted on rivalries and #1 contenders, but I'm not going to be doing the long write ups that I did with the Royal Rumble, and the first week of shows.)

Match 1 - Tyson Kidd vs Brodus Clay
Winner - Brodus Clay
Length - 7 minutes

Match 2 - Santino Marella vs Kofi Kingston
Winner -
Kofi Kingston
Length - 8 minutes

Match 3 - Alex Riley vs Mason Ryan (for #1 Contender at ECW title)
Winner
- Alex Riley
Length - 8 minutes
Notes - After the match, Mason Ryan destroyed the announce table, and punched Michael Cole

Welcome to the 2nd week of WWE Smackdown! When we last left off, we had some clear issues between Mark Henry & his tag team partner from last week, United States Champion Christian. Christian is set to face Chavo Guerrero tonight, but Mark Henry isn't on the card. It'll be interesting to see if he makes his presence known, anyway.

Match 1 - Drew McIntyre vs Brock Lesnar. (A rematch of last week's match, that saw McIntyre reject a handshake from Lesnar after losing to Brock.)
Winner - Brock Lesnar
Length - 9 minutes
Notes - After the match, Wade Barrett (McIntyre's UK tag team partner), came to the ramp and had some words for Lesnar. Interesting to see where this may go.

Match 2 - Legacy (Rhodes & DiBiase) vs Masked Luchadors (Sin Cara & Mysterio)
Winner - Legacy
Length - 14 minutes
Notes - Sin Cara taps to the Million Dollar Dream

Match 3 - Chavo Guerrero vs Christian
Winner -
Chavo Guerrero
Length - N/A
Notes - I interfered in the match with Mark Henry, hit the World's Strongest Slam on Christian, and lost him the match. This feud just continues to grow.

Match 4 - The Rock vs John Cena vs Kurt Angle (#1 Contender's Match for WWE Title shot at No Way Out)
Winner - Kurt Angle
Length - 28 minutes

I'll do big write ups for the PPVs, but for the weekly shows, I'll just post results. I'll make sure to keep you clued in enough during the weekly matches, so that come PPV time, you'll know the reasoning behind the matches

Definitely doing this too. With a slew of new games out (UFC, SSX, Mass Effect 3), and this new job I got ...I'm not going to have time to blog my full shows anymore. I'll def still blog the PPV's and just do tiny notes for the weeklys, unless something insane happens.

Icon14 Re: Official: How's your WWE 12 Universe going?

(FYI: completely CPU-booked)

One night after Fatal 4Way, someone in the Motor City is actually crazy enough to challenge....

to an Iron Man match!!??!!?

Unfinished business. Orton beat Nash a couple weeks ago on RAW, yet the leader of the New World Order stole the heavyweight title last night when he put his own brand-mate, the mysterious Joker, through a table. Orton, on the other hand, seemingly joined a stable of his own, alongside Edge and CM Punk after they gave Kane the beating of his life. Ladies and genteleman, this is how you kick off MONDAY.. NIGHT.. RAWWWWW [Supershow]!!!

[cut promo]

Extreme Rules (nontitle): Orton vs. Nash (WWE Champ). Highlights: Loving the elongated entrance from Nash, displaying his new gold, all the while wearing the WWE Tag Team strap around his waste, as well. After a bloody match, Nash chokeslammed Randy on the annouce table! To finish, he intercepted a ladder smash for one of his own. Winner: Nash.

Christian vs. The Rock. The nWo music rolls out again, only fitting seeing how they now own the WWE Heavyweight & Tag Team titles. Cutscene: Mick Foley appears from under the ring and attacks The Rock, pummeling and stomping him to kingdom come!!! Highlights: The Rock overcomes getting jumped to get the fall with a reverse short-arm clothesline. Winner: Johnson. New Cutscene: Christian wipes away Rocky's handshake offering. Perhaps the Brahma Bull is trying to get Mr. Cage to leave the dark side?

News: After the match, our own Josh Matthews caught up with Christian after the loss, claiming he's "lost more friends than [he's] gained, and haven't won a thing since kissing Nash's ***. So, if the fans want it, then I want it. Captain Charisma.. is back."

CM Punk vs. The Joker. Another WWE vs. nWo match-up! Seems like the Clown Prince wants a little revenge for what the winner of last night's contender's 4Way did to his pal Kane. Cutscene: Oh wow! Chris Jericho makes his return and code-breaks Punk! Winner: Joker. Not looking like a good night for this new "faction"!

Main Event - Iron Man: ??? vs. Undertaker. Ha! It's none other than Alberto Del Riooooooooo!!!!!!! The former heavyweight champion makes his long-awaited return after a brief squabble with JBL..to challenge.. Taker??!!? Highlights: Taker takes the first 2 falls, with a "Snake Eyes" and "Tombstone." Del Rio got so upset, he brought the ring steps into the ring and destroyed Taker with it repeatedly to get himself a fall! After nailing Taker yet again later in the match with the ring steps...Del Rio went for the pinfall, but the time runs out! Winner: Taker.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Official announcement from the legendary Bret "Hitman" Hart next on.. E C WWWW!!!!

New ECW Hardcore champion Lance Storm comes out for an celebratory interview and he's challenged by none other than his former Impact Player teammate, Justin Credible!! Highlights: Wow. Insane match. Just as Storm went for his finisher, Credible reverse-DDT'd the 1-night only champ on a chair. Winner and the newwwwwwwww Hardcore Champion: Credible! This is our 6th Hardcore champion in as many weeks...are you kidding me!!!

ECW/TNA Tag Tourney, Round 2, Match 2: nWo "Gotham" (Hennig & McGillicutty) vs. The Road Warriors. Highlights: After LOD had great teamwork all match, the ref blew them a DQ for the constant double-teaming! Winners: nWo. It was found out after the match that WWE official Nick Patrick was found CELEBRATING with the father and son duo in the back!

Here he is!!! Bret Hart is in the ring on a very special ECW to announce. "You know, I shouldn't even be out here. I shouldn't even give you fans a second of MY precious time. But, you know, Owen is my brother...and Davey Boy is my brother-in-law, but it doesn't take the fact away that they failed business signing with that rat Paul HEYMAN. So, you know, my ol' pal and now WWE Champion Big Sexy Kevin Nash offered the best deal to come back. He said to me, "You know, those ECW guys are a pain in the ***." And, they don't call me "Hit MAN" for nothing. So...

music hits...it's...Justin Gabriel's? What the hell does he want?

Main Event: Hart vs. Gabriel. This was actually a great match, perhaps with Hart showing a little ring-rust. I love how Cole was talking about "execution" during some of Hitman's best moves. Sharpshooter taps out the kid from South Africa. Winner: Hart. Cutscene: WOW!!! This might be the most timely, fitting cutscene I've ever landed! After the match, the nWo's Ziggler and NEWEST ADDITION Big Show help beat the living piss out of Gabriel with tons of stomps and Show even through Hart a chair for measure!!! This is most certainly like the nWo of old!!!

Canada Night goes to Hart!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After last week at Fatal 4Way...

Sting told Roode of a special mystery opponent...and that he must face that mystery opponent, Iron Man style!!

Angle vs. Goldberg. Since I'm going to be a little bit busier in the coming days, I'm going to allow the CPU to wrestle matches from time to time. This matchup appeared like a perfect one, and it was....while I was doing dishes, I noticed that this lived up to its classic billing with back n forth wrestling and brawling. But I can't believe the straight job from Da Man! Angle lands the moonsault off the top rope and Angle Slam for the HUGE win!! Winner: Angle. Guess he doesn't.. suck.

TNA/ECW Tag Tourney, Round 2, Match 3: UK Invasion (McIntyre & Regal w/ Barrett) vs. AJ Styles & Chris Sabin. Although Sabin revealed his true colors a couple weeks ago when attacking former partner and pal Alex Shelly, he's still forced by Sting to team up with AJ since they beat Matt Hardy & Christopher Daniels early in the tourney. Again, I'll let the CPU do this one. I have to admit, Sabin & Styles uni's do match perfectly for a tag team, as well as their hooded sweatshirts. Who knows. AJ actually took out both Barrett and McIntyre with a springboard plancha out of the ring, while Sabin pinned Regal pulling the tights on a roll-up. Winners: Styles & Sabin. When Styles found out how Sabin got the victory, he got into Chris' face absolutely furious...setting up their X-Division tourney match next week!

[Yes, I just totally made that **** up! But sometimes YOU HAVE TO!]

Knockouts (Non-Title): McCool (Chaml) vs. V. Guererro. Simulated. Winner: McCool.

Main Event - Iron Man (Non-Title): ??? vs. Roode (Champ). "And Johnny Cash listenin'!!!!!!!!!!" He's back! It's "Cowboy" James Storm!! After several weeks of being absent from the Impact Zone, the former Beer Money parter of Roode's enters the fray to challenge him! Highlights: Storm superkicked Roode for a pinfall exactly halfway at the 7-minute mark. Roode then kicked and knocked out the ref, bringing in the ring steps and DDTing Storm for a pin. Storm's "Eight Second Ride" surprisingly wasn't enough for the 2nd fall, so Storm belly-2-belly slammed him on those same ring steps after busting him open! 2-1! Roode applied a pinfall after a great "Roode Awakening", but he ran out of time. Winner: Storm!! NEW Cutscene: Ever frustrated Roode destroys the annouce table and punches out Michael Cole!!!

Re: Official: How's your WWE 12 Universe going?

Week 3 Results

Match 1 - Goldust vs Alberto Del Rio
Winner -
Goldust
Length - 8 minutes

Match 2 - John Morrison w/ The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler w/ Jack Swagger
Winner -
Jack Swagger
Length - 10 minutes
Notes - This match stems from some beef that got started during the triple threat match on RAW. There were two matches going on in this one - Morrison & Swagger in the ring, Ziggler & Miz on the outside. I get the impression that we have a great tag team feud developing here.

Match 3 - Edge vs William Regal
Winner -
Edge
Length - 8 minutes
Notes - Jeff Hardy has several guys gunning for his Intercontinental championship (Edge, Regal, Orton, Jericho). This match was just another testament to how great this Intercontinental division is. After the match, Regal delivered a low blow to Edge.

A couple of weeks ago, Evolution won a #1 Contender match for the World Tag Team titles, but before Booker T & Goldust give them the opportunity, Orton & Batista have to prove that they are worthy by defeating them in the ring. Unfortunately, Triple H accompanied his Evolution teammates to the ring.
Match 4 - Randy Orton & Batista vs Booker T & Goldust
Winner
- Randy Orton & Batista
Length - 14 minutes
Notes - Triple H was beating up Goldust on the outside, as Randy Orton pinned Booker T. Evolution has now guaranteed themselves a shot at the World Tag Team titles.

Here we are at the third week of ECW. Last week, Alex Riley won a match against Mason Ryan, to earn himself a rematch against ECW Champion, CM Punk.

Match 1 - Slater & Gabriel vs Otunga & McGillicutty (Extreme Rules, Falls Count Anywhere, Tornado Tag)
Winner -
Slater & Gabriel
Length - 6 minutes

Match 2 - Kofi Kingston vs Yoshi Tatsu vs Ezekial Jackson (Extreme Rules, Falls Count Anywhere)
Winner -
Ezekial Jackson
Length - 11 minutes
Notes - Very hardcore match. Yoshi used a Kofi to break a ladder...This match made me wish I had the blood turned ON.

Match 3 - Alex Riley vs CM Punk (for ECW Championship)
Winner
- CM Punk
Length - 10 minutes
Notes - Before the match "officially" began, the ref did a search of CM Punk, but while he was over there, A-Ri put on some brass knucks, and decked Punk while the referee was looking. Unfortunately, Punk kicked out of the pin attempt. That's twice in less than a month that A-Ri has lost an ECW title match to Punk. There was a SICK spot in the match, when Punk performed his Macho Man tribute elbow drop off the top of a ladder to A-Ri on the outside of the ring. Great match.

Here we are - the last Smackdown! before the first brand exclusive PPV, No Way Out. We have some loose ends to tie up before the PPV - where is the Mark Henry/Christian feud going? Now that we know that Kurt Angle will be challenging Undertaker at No Way Out for the WWE Undisputed title. Will we see Angle & Taker have a confrontation this week? Not to mention, Legacy has made it clear that they will be challenging Los Guerreros for the WWE tag team titles. Will we see a preview of that tonight? Also, over the last 2 weeks, Brock Lesnar has beat up on UK member Drew McIntyre, prompting Wade Barrett to come out and confront Brock. Will there be anything going on with this "feud" this week?

Match 1 - Wade Barrett...err, wait, Drew McIntyre vs Brock Lesnar
Winner
- Brock Lesnar
Length -10 minutes
Notes - during Barrett's entrance (with Brock already in the ring), Barrett came out and informed Brock that he wouldn't be able to get his hands on Barrett, as he introduced his substitute for the match - Drew McIntyre. Wade was, of course, at ringside during the match.

Match 2 - Ted DiBiase (w/ Cody Rhodes) vs Chavo Guerrero (w/ Eddie Guerrero)
Winner -
Chavo Guerrero
Length - 9 minutes
Notes - We've seen Rhodes face off with Eddie. Now, we see the other halves of those tag teams face off.

Match 3 - Natalya & Michelle McCool vs Trish Stratus & Alicia Fox
Winner -
Natalya & Michelle
Length - didn't watch it
Notes - this was a precursor to Natalya facing Trish for the Women's title at No Way Out. This is the second time in less than a month that Natalya has bested Trish, so we could be in for a new champion at the PPV.

(For our main event, what else would GM Teddy Long book but a tag team match involving each champion, and their #1 contender? With the heels being teamed up against the faces, of course)

Match 4 - Christian & Kurt Angle vs Undertaker & Mark Henry
Winner -
Undertaker & Mark Henry
Length - 19 minutes
Notes - Mark Henry pinned Christian to pick up the W for his team. Could this be a sign of things to come at No Way Out?

The next time you hear from me will be at the first Smackdown! exclusive PPV, No Way Out.

We'll have Kurt Angle challenging for the Undisputed Title vs The Undertaker, Mark Henry going for the US title against Christian, Legacy taking on Los Guerreros for the WWE Tag Titles, Natalya taking on Trish Stratus for the Women's title, & Brock Lesnar finally getting his hands on Wade Barrett.

Re: Official: How's your WWE 12 Universe going?

[As usual, I've been going with CPU-booked matches.]

This was the scene to open up RAW Supershow in Chi-town!!!! After Triple H came out to challenge the Undertaker, the WWE/nWo Champion had something to say---and more!!!

Let's say the Dead Man answered the call...against BOTH men!

Christian vs. The Rock. Christian returns for this rematch as Captain Charisma, embraced by the WWE fans with no more indication of an nWo relationship. Cutscene: During The Rock's entrance, he's attacked by...what...Kofi Kingston! Kofi tosses him in the ring. NEW Cutscene: Wow haven't witnessed 2 cutscenes this quickly in a row, nevermind that it's a new one! Mick Foley enters the fray and beats down both Christian and The Rock from behind! Highlights: After all the mayhem the competitors continue. Maybe the biggest shocker of the year! Rock couldn't overcome the multiple beatdowns with Christian defeating the Rock via "Killswitch" into pin! Winner: Cage. NEW Cutscene: Mick Foley returns to stomp The Rock again, and Christian takes another look as he leaves and returns to clothesline Foley over the ropes! Him and The Rock then give each other another glance before Cage leaves! Awesome!!!

News: Kofi Kingston has turned his back on the WWE fans; Christian defeated The Rock in a David & Goliath victory!

Sheamus vs. Ziggler (no, I'm not kidding--same match as this week's Smackdown!). I had Swagger interfere in the match, however, landing a Swagger-Bomb to decided Zig's victory. Winner: Ziggler. Is Swag now a member of the nWo?

John Cena vs. Kane. Nearly the same thing... Sick of this rivalry, I had Randy Orton come out (a reverse of tonight's Smackdown!) and RKO Kane 3 times!!! Winner: Cena.

Main Event - Triple Threat (non-title): Triple H vs. Nash (Champ) vs. Undertaker. Let the computer play this one out! Cutscene: HHH shortarm clotheslines Taker from behind!!! Highlights: This match is absolutely perfect because Nash and HHH have had the longest running on and off rivalry since my Universe began, and, obviously, we have Taker and HHH in real life dueling at Mania. HHH breaks up Taker from Tombstoning Nash, and then receives one on his own! Nash jacknifed Taker but HHH barely broke up the count! Wowww!!! As Taker went out the ring to get a chair, HHH woke up from certain disaster to surprise Pedigree the champ for the win!!! Winner: HHH!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In tonight's main event on ECW....

The ECW/TNA Tag Team Champs are in for a surprise!

X-Division Contender's Tourney, Round 2, Match 3: Kidd w/ Natalya vs. Pillman w/ Flair. Whooooo!!! The Four Horsemen are in the building tonight for ECW, and word has it that Arn Anderson is hot on the recruitmant trail! After seeing the nWo takeover last week, the grizzled vets weren't too happy and are looking to add a fifth wheel. This match also marks Pillman's return to ECW, one of his shining moments in his career, even sporting the same attire he wore then--jeans and all. Highlights: Pillman nearly destroyed him, busting him open with consecutive snap-DDT's and then his ol' school pattened flying clothesline from the top rope. Winner: Pillman.

McGillicutty vs. Hennig. Heyman, not too happy with last week's nWo invasion, placed father and son New World Order members against each other! McGillicutty appears shaken and upset walking down the ring, all the while Hennig looks as perfectly confident as ever. There has to be a plan! After McGillicutty missed from the top rope, Hennig nailed the Perfect Plex for the sour victory. Winner: Hennig. NEW Cutscene: nWo Legacy comes out to show Hennig a round of applause from the entranceway! Perfect gracefully smerks off the win. I don't get it, Taz, do you? *Joey Styles*

Main Event 6-Man Tag - Extreme Rules: The Dudley Boyz (ECW Tag Team Champs) & Justin Credible (Hardcore Champ) vs. The Four Horsemen (Anderson, Benoit, & Flair). For whatever reason the Four Horsemen theme didn't play, and I just checked after the match and it was set! Even for trio. WEIRD. Cutscene: D-Von and Bully exchange high-fives. This is easily the stupidest cutscene in the game. Why does Arn Anderson have such a hunchback? lol... One other thing I dislike about the game is that if you have a primarily filled with CAW's, there's not much commentary going on. Hopefully that's changed in 13. Highlights: The match actually turned into a donniebrook with all 6 men going at it! After AA nailed the spinebuster, he got the hot tag to Credible who nailed Flair but couldn't knock off Benoit. Flair gets the pinfall on Bully after he's unconscious from a great doubleteam move! Winners: The Four Horsemen!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After last week's mystery opponent defeated the World Champion "Iron Man" style last week...

Sting declares that they fight again.. tonight on Impact!!

??? and Goldberg vs. Angle & Aires. Goldberg didn't look so great after the initial beatdown from Angle before the match, eventually losing to the Angle Slam. This week, he's got back-up. So, Angle picked who he thinks is "the biggest rising star" in TNA as his partner, Austin Aires. Who is Goldberg's mystery man? No kidding. Well, the music is similar, the builds are similar, and often the demeanor...Mason Ryan!!! With this much power, how will the olympic gold medalist overcome that with... a lightweight from the X-Division? Yikes! Highlights: The double-hip-toss-turned-double-elbow smash from Berg & Ryan on Angle was awesome! Angle once again nailed Berg with an Angle Slam, but Berg immediately rose up and Speared Angle for the pinfall!!! Aires was too late for the save! Winners: Goldberg & Ryan!

X-Division Tourney, Round 2, Match 4: Styles vs. Sabin. These 2 guys got a nice victory over the UK Invasion last week to advance in the tag tourney, but face each other here in the X-Div tourney. After a fantastic back-n-forth match, as you'd expect, Sabin takes the win via "Cradle Shock." Winner: Sabin.

TNA/ECW Tag Tourney, Round 2, Match 4: nWo Legacy (Dibiase & Rhodes) vs. Power Trip (Crimson & Morgan). Highlights: Pretty awesome seeing these guys come out to their classic tag theme with the nWo titantron. OK sickest end to a CPU match ever. Power Trip looked as great as they did during their extended title run that began my Universe, and they simply overpowerred Morgan. Dibiase missed a running clothesline and got caught with the "Carbon Footprint"!! Winners: Power Trip.

Main Event (non-title). Roode (Champ) vs. Storm. Cutscene: Vickie Guerrero watches from the announce table. Hmmm... Highlights: Most exciting match I've watched in terms of dramatic kick-outs. Storm definitely injured Roode's leg after several kneed drops on his leg, among other targeted moves. Superkick for another HUGE win!!! Winner: Storm. Cutscene: Vickie waves for medical help on the injured Roode. Despite winning the title, it's been a rough month for the champ!
