WWE SD Live 07/17/18: AJ Styles Day Number 252

AJ Styles defeated Rusev to retain the WWE Championship. For 252 Days, Styles has held the championship and we now look ahead to Summerslam as the next challenger emerges. Who on the SD Live roster will step up and try to tear down the house that AJ Styles Built?

My dream scenario is he holds on to it until WM and Rollins wins the rumble and goes to Smackdown. They even mentioned in one of the documentaries on the network how they wrestled at an indy show when a Rollins broke in and how AJ helped him out, they could work that in to a pretty cool story

Damn, son. Nobody watched? Lol. I heard they had Almas vs Styles with zero build, just for the hell of it. Gotta get those unique matchups out of the way as quick as possible.

This week's Smackdown was good so of course I would love to review it. I enjoyed a lot of the segments. The Styles/Almas match was a good opener although it's sad to see the WWE Champion in an opening segment match. Becky Lynch is getting momentum so that's good. And it was nice to see Samoa Joe again with a squash match win.

So I was right about this short lived Team Hell No reunion. It was only for a month and now Daniel Bryan and The Miz can finally have their long awaited match. Effective promo work from Miz. Makes sense for Eric Young to beat Kofi Kingston as Sanity needs the momentum more than New Day. Lastly, that main event between Shinsuke/Jeff Hardy was good too. But wow at heel Randy Orton being back. That ear attack he put on Jeff was sadistic. Made me feel bad for Jeff. Great way to end the show and happy that heel Orton is back.

Almas/Styles was solid but that's really no surprise because both of them are sooo good. I just hope it leads to something.

glad they are showcasing Becky more she deserves it.

not all smackdown's are awesome shows but they are so easy to get through or watch. I love that... that's why it is the A show.

That opening promo from Hardy was one of the weirdest I have ever seen. I had to turn my head away when Orton was threatening to rip the hole in Hardy's ear at the end

Miz doing the two handed sympathy hand shakes won the night. Nothing topped that.
