Roderick Strong reportedly requested his release from WWE...which was denied.

Not surprised by either action. He signed an extension...then his wife got released, and after dropping the Cruiserweight and NA Titles in January, he's barely featured.

Maybe he'll luck out and WWE will either bring him back a la Ali or he'll be stuck in purgatory.

And his group just lost their manager/mouthpiece too. But WWE knows exactly where he's going if he's released, and it's not surprising they're not letting him go join Undisputed Elite.

Exactly. He's 100% going to AEW when released.

Kind of ironic now with his promo last week. Talking about how he's gonna make sure Diamond Mine doesn't end up like his last group (and funny enough, Bivens during the promo seemed like he was disagreeing with Strongs comments), and now they basically will be broken up, and he tried leaving to join his old group.

I saw that this isn't a new occurrence. He's been asking for his release for months. Apparently it was a surprise to some that he wasn't in the latest batch of releases. And if wasn't for the fact that he'd almost certainly join the competition's top stable, he probably would have been.

He’s worked a couple tapings of NXT UK. He hasn’t been featured on WWE TV in almost a month.
