When and why the hell did that become a trope?

I can overlook or ignore a lot of the WWE tropes that run rampant in the product, but that one I've never understood or thought looked "cool."

The WM sign has been there since WM20 I believe, but WM25 when Orton won the rumble is the first time I can remember someone pointing at it.

What stood out for me from this week's RAW were the matches. A ton of them were darn good. Priest/Owens for the US Title was a great match. I thought we were going to get a Title change but the finish allows for a rematch. Still have no clue where this Priese angle is leading to as well. Orton/Gable was awesome too as I felt like Gable was very entertaining here. The spelling bee contest especially. Gable gave me early Kurt Angle vibes. Styles/Theory match was awesome too. I honestly have no clue which match was the best of the night. Seriously. Thats how good they all were. Even Street Profits/Misterios was good too.

I didn't hate the women's stuff. They were there to advance feuds so its fine. I do continue to wonder why Dana Brooke is still 24/7 Champ. Main event segment was just okay for me. I do want to see Edge and Beth get their hands on Miz and Maryse though. That weigh-in opening segment though, was weird. WWE never does these. Plus, they dont take their weight class divisions seriously. Cmon now.

This segment is great.

Seth bringing up the 30 day suspension Roman got a few years ago... damn. I think tonight was the first night we've seen someone actually get under Roman's skin, the vulnerability Roman showed when Rollins mentioned the chair to the back when he broke up The Shield was great storytelling. This should have been saved for Mania, it feels like a waste at the Rumble.

Really wish Rollins/Reigns was being built for Wrestlemania instead of some stepping stone throwaway bull**** at Royal Rumble.

Would be amazing to see Rollins evolve slowly and eventually drop the laughing Riddler/Joker gimmick slowly and just turn into a serious killer. Almost wish he was doing the Messiah gimmick here and not wasted that on that Mysterio crap.

I could only imagine this being built and then sometime around early March they revealed the "I'm responsible for your success" thing that they did tonight. Then had Reigns finally doubt his success and existence for a few weeks, etc culminating in the main event.

But noooo. SMH.
