You can either import one player at a time or you have to import an entire roster with an equal amount of players that you are importing.

Another suggestion to become a better roster maker is to read through the entire thread of Xanathol's Madden 12 roster editor. A lot of useful tips in there.

To be honest with you, the way I learned is just mess around with it with roster files and ask individual questions when you can't figure something out. There isn't really a right or wrong way to do it. Rather, it's just guess and test.
