Modern warfare2 Controversey!

Spoiler alert: I just viewed the leaked footage of modern warfare 2. For those who have yet to witness the footage, the opening scene shows a group of terrorist walking into an airport and opening fire on innocent civilians.

I'm no cupcake by no means, but when I witnessed this footage I was blown back. I can honestly say this was the most surreal moment I've ever experienced in any video game. Some will say big deal-you've seen this before in Grand theft or any first person shooter, but Modern Warfare 2's opening scene disturbed me like never before.

I'm fully aware and cognizant of America's war on terroism, and that opening scene fully reminded me of this convienently, ignored, truth.

So did Infinity Ward step over the line..........they definitely took me out of my perceived comfort zone. For the gamers who play first person shooters without any clue on what's happening globaly-they'll probably wonder, "what's the big deal?" But the consciously aware gamer will quickly come to the realization that Infinity Ward has taken the art of gaming to a political front that few mediums in history....and that includes music, movies, and stand up comedy- has yet to achieve.

Im confident this will ignite a controversial media pile-up like never before. Where do we go from here? Because the number one selling game in video gaming history has fired a shot, THAT WILL BE HEARD AND FELT THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE WORLD!

I had no plans to purchase the game, but will be purchasing it because of the historic factor. In my opinion Infinity Ward should have kept it a cut scene, they were very foolish for allowing the player to participate in the massacre. I anticipate this title will be banned by Wal-mart after they sell through their initial shipment. But here's the kicker, imagine all the free publicity Activison will get as a result. No need to spend any more money on promoting DJ hero, the media will link that title and guitar hero to modern warfare in the story. Risky move, but it could pay off BIG TIME!
