Re: Pennsylvania A&T (NCAA 14 Teambuilder Dynasty)

Perry Hall, Md. (Nov 19) - Perry Hall High School cornerback Korey Skinner announced on Monday evening that he has made a verbal commitment to play football next fall at Pennsylvania A&T in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Skinner, originally from Reading, Pennsylvania, has been a two year starter at cornerback for the Gators who are set to play for the Baltimore 4A North Region Championship this Friday, November 22 against Paint Branch in Burtonsville.

"I wanted to make my decision before the game. In the end it wasn't a super difficult decision for me but the college selection process ain't easy for anybody," said the senior Skinner.

Korey is not one of the more hyped prospects on his team but has shown his ability to make plays on defense and special teams. At 5'11, 168 pounds, his size has set him back from major division 1 programs. But his coach, Keith Robinson knows what his corner brings to the table.

"Korey came to us after some eligibility issues at his previous school. Great kid. Never have to worry about him working" said Robinson. "In our area, there's not too many starting corner backs that are smaller like him, but he makes up for it with his speed."

Skinner moved to Perry Hall in the summer of 2012 after his area's high school athletics governance board found that he had been recruited to play for Berks Catholic High School in Reading, Pa. His family decided to move to Maryland where his mother's family is originally from.

"I couldn't be more happy with ending at Perry Hall for high school. But my heart is back above the state line in PA. I wasn't heavily recruited but coach Lucas saw my passion for football and blessed me with an offer."

Skinner is rated as a one star prospect by Rivals and is not rated by ESPN or 247sports. His Rivals page lists his 40-yard dash time at 4.44 and says that he visited the Penn A&T campus on November 9 when Penn A&T defeated Memphis 59-55, their first ever win as a Division 1 football program. The Fightin Dutchmen are in their first season of competition after the school was just opened in 2011.

Hanson nabbed for rest of regular season

Freshman DT Darnell Hanson
Lancaster, Pa. (Nov. 18) - Pennsylvania A&T Head Football Coach Tim Keyser announced on Thursday afternoon that freshman defensive tackle Darnell Hanson has been suspended for the final two games of the regular season after violating team rules.

Keyser would not comment on the actual issue at hand with Hanson but that his actions warranted the suspension until an investigation was completed

"At this time, the only comment I have is that we are preparing for Navy without Darnell," said Keyser.

At this point, we do not have confirmation but there was a Snapchat video that circulated across other social media channels that showed a young man with Hanson's likeness seen fighting outside Brickyard, a popular college bar in the Lancaster area.

It is very likely that the suspension stems from this incident as Hanson is just a freshman in college, so his attendance at an over 21 bar participating in fights sets off multiple red flags for not just the program but the university.

With just two games remaining for the Penn A&T football team in their inaugural season, it is possible that a suspension of this type is precautionary for further repercussions.

Hanson, an Erie, Pa. native and graduate of Erie Strong Vincent High School, has appeared in all 10 games so far this season as a backup on the defensive line, recording five tackles, including one sack.

The Fightin Dutchmen travel to Annapolis, Md. on Saturday to play the Navy Midshipmen with kickoff set for 6:00p.m.

Re: Pennsylvania A&T (NCAA 14 Teambuilder Dynasty)

Here at The Daily Dutchman (A Penn A&T institutional publication), we have dedicated a weekly section for our athletic programs to get highlighted.

Coaches Corner:
Here, Penn A&T Head Football Coach Tim Keyser will do a quick (honest) breakdown of last week's performance followed by a rundown of their upcoming opponent.

[On Wake Forest Game]
I could not have been more pleased with how our team came out of the gate last week. Look, Wake Forest is an ACC program. They may be having a down year but those boys are some quality ball players. We got tired and made some mistakes later in the game but going into the locker room the staff was very encouraged by what we saw.

[On Darnell Hanson suspension]
Look I said the other day that I will not be commenting on the situation until I am given the ok to. We are fully prepared to take on Navy this week with the guys we have.

[Late-season QB Situation]
We went into this week with an open mind about who to finish out the season with. We started with Tyler (Ruberio) and then made some changes and Ritchy (Teague) has been leading us for the most part. I've been disappointed in the passing so far this year...a lot of bad decisions. Ritchy has made a lot of plays with his feet which is nice to see but we want to help him last longer and not have to leave the game because of stingers.

[On Navy]
When it rains it pours. When teams run the ball against us, I cry. We play Navy this week. Need I say more?

I'm calling for win number 2 right here. It wont be easy on the road but if you can force some stops you should pull out the victory.

Re: Pennsylvania A&T (NCAA 14 Teambuilder Dynasty)

Well it's not like your rush defense was going to stop Navy anyway looking at the numbers, let's just hope you can move the turnover differential back toward the positive and get some red zone stops.

Ia ppreciate your optimism haha. If I can keep the deficit less than 30 points I'll consider it a win.

My thoughts exactly. As stated above...if I can keep the deficit under 30 I'll be happy. We cannot stop the run.

I'm about to play the game now. Prayers needed lol
