West Virginia struck first, but Michigan scored 21 unanswered points in the second quarter to take a commanding 21-7 halftime lead. After trading touchdowns in the third quarter, the Wolverines led 28-14 heading into the game's final 15 minutes. A six-yard passing touchdown by quarterback Pat White cut the Michigan led to 28-21 with 7:12 left and the Mountaineers scored again when Steve Slaton punched the football in from a yard out with just 4:38 left to tie the game. However, the Wolverines were undeterred and Chad Henne led the Wolverines on a masterful drive that culminated in a touchdown with just 47 seconds left to win the BCS National Championship. Chad Henne won MVP, passing for 200 yards and four touchdowns, though he also threw two interceptions.

Re: Yale Bulldogs (NCAA Football 07)

Wow Boise State got screwed. 12-1 and they are stuck playing in their own Bowl game against NIU..

Also not sure if you just had Duke on the mind but your end of season stats stays Duke Blue Devils.

I always liked when there would be disputed champions in these games, as long as it didn't happen at my expense.

Nice to see Yale finish with a blowout of Harvard, excited for recruiting!

Yeah, they did! And in real life this is the season they beat Oklahoma with the Statue of Liberty and the hook and ladder!!

And I fixed that now that you mentioned it, haha. That’s what I get for reusing the template I made for a past dynasty.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be happy if I was either of the disputed champions!

Recruiting was.....interesting. My original intended recruiting rules were so harsh I only got two recruits signed, so I had to relax my restrictions some, and did slightly better. It’s hard to do much with 23 recruiting points and hardly anyone interested. I’ll post the off-season stuff later.

Jermaine Malone - FS - 74
Daniel Williamson - CB - 65
Corey Cross - WR - 62
Trey Duckett - WR - 59
Shaun Whitaker - SS - 56
Zac Stephens - QB - 56

Bennie Hall - LE - 44
Nathan Stallings - DT - 40
Roderick Gates - C - 40

Players Drafted
None

Incoming Transfers
Cory Holt - QB - RJr - Virginia Tech - 82 OVR (Accepted)
Lawrence Ridgeway - SS - RJr - Clemson - 80 OVR (Accepted)
Tommy Hall - FB - RSo - Syracuse 78 OVR (Denied)

NOTE: Tommy Hall was denied a transfer based on his awareness rating being below 70 (this is the cutoff I picked; I may need to adjust in the future). Holt's and Hall's awareness ratings were deemed acceptable by me. They will have to sit out next year, though, and so I will only get one year out of them.

Signed Players
***** - 0
**** - 0
*** - 0
** - 3
* - 2
Total - 5

Commits (Position Ranking)
Kevin Robinson - ATH - Norwich, CT - ** (75)

Jason Hansbro - DT - Franklin, NH - ** (112)

Adam East - DE - Shelton, CT - ** (123)

Marcus Rust - OLB - Stanton, DE - * (130)

Joe Boyd - SS - Nautilus Park, CT - * (91)

I relaxed my original intent to only recruit players with A-/A/A+ awareness rating recruits because I was only able to get two total recruits in the first place, and so I allowed myself to recruit anyone with B- or higher awareness ratings. Still, I only got five players, the worst class in the country. All of my recruits were on the defensive side of the ball, which is where we need a lot of help. Hansbro and East will help along our defensive line, which was an absolute travesty last year. We could've used some help on the offensive line, but I struck out there. I will hope we get some good walk-ons......

9. Jon Nelson - DE - San Francisco, CA - Arizona State
10. Joel Baker - G - Melrose Park, IL - Auburn

Position Changes
Kevin Robinson - ATH -> CB

Robinson actually grades out best as a quarterback, but we need all the help we can get on the defensive side of the ball, and I think we're already set at quarterback for the next few years with Nate Ellerbee and Cory Holt. Robinson does have a huge speed edge on Ellerbee which would be useful to evade pressure considering how bad our offensive line is, but I'll plan on keeping him at cornerback for now. If Ellerbee struggles this year, I could possibly move Robinson to quarterback, though.

2007 Yale Bulldogs Roster and Season Preview

(Number / Name / Rating / Height / Weight / Class)

(Redshirted players are shaded red)

OFFENSE

QB
12 Cory Holt (84) 6'4, 224, RJr (Transfer Year)
6 Nate Ellerbee (72) 6'2, 211, RSo
14 Jordan Clark (59) 6'4, 200, Fr
15 Michael Miller (52) 6'3, 219, Fr

HB
31 Thomas Moore (80) 5'10, 209, RSr (IP)
20 Marque Kearney (76) 5'9, 197, Sr (IP)
11 Rodney Allen (52) 5'11, 191, Sr

FB
10 Lucas Morgan (70) 5'9, 211, Sr
35 Sean Reid (65) 5'10, 217, Jr

Backfield Preview: Nate Ellerbee will take over at quarterback for Jeff McNamara after redshirting last year. Ellerbee is a very similar quarterback to McNamara, albeit not easy seasoned or talented. Cory Holt, the transfer from Virginia Tech, will be ineligible this season, but will likely quarterback Yale next season. Thomas Moore and Marque Kearney are solid running backs and if the offensive line can improve this season, they could do some damage on the ground. Head coach Lee Williamson has said he will also try to get them the football more in the passing game than in 2006. Kearney especially will line up in the slot quite often.

WR
89 Tyson Brewer (68) 6'4, 195, Sr
87 Michael Singleton (59) 6'2, 196, Jr
30 Steve Hall (56) 6'4, 192, Sr
80 Allan Chance (48) 6'0, 180, RSr
7 Adam Sanders (48) 6'1, 201, RJr

TE
17 Elliot McKinney (56) 6'2, 237, Jr
86 Andy Pearman (48) 6'3, 246, Sr

Receivers Preview: The Bulldogs lose star tight end Lance Pressley from last season. Tyson Brewer led the team in receiving yards last year and will look to improve on his performance this season. Aside from him, the receiving corps leaves a lot to be desired. Yale is a lot weaker at tight end this season, so expect to see less formations with one or two tight ends and more four-wide formations. Note that running back Marque Kearney will be utilized in the slot a lot this year.

T
61 John Stewart (62) 6'3, 271, Sr
77 Roger Kendrick (48) 6'4, 258, RSo
57 Donte Warren (44) 6'3, 286, RSr

G
70 Stacy Thompson (65) 6'4, 306, Sr
72 Greg Durfee (52) 6'2, 286, Sr
56 Clayton Ridgeway (52) 6'2, 276, Sr
54 Marcus Hardy (44) 6'4, 258, RJr

C
65 Jerald Thomas (56) 6'6, 299, Fr
60 Ricky Lloyd (56) 6'3, 301, Fr

Offensive Line Preview: This unit looks somewhat better than last year, but that's not saying much. Stacy Thompson is the best player the Bulldogs have on the line at guard. Three starters on this unit are seniors. A walk-on will be starting at center as walk-ons Jerald Thomas and Ricky Lloyd will be battling it out for the starting role.

DEFENSE

DE
90 Adam East (65) 6'7, 252, Fr
99 Robert Carty (48) 6'4, 213, Sr
49 Travis Carpenter (44) 6'3, 222, RJr
88 Travis Dingle (44) 6'5, 218, RSo

DT
92 Jason Hansbro (65) 6'2, 300, Fr
94 Tim Everett (56) 6'3, 242, Jr
97 Lance Campbell (44) 6'3, 240, RSo
55 Steve Davis (40) 6'2, 266, RSo

Defensive Line Preview: Freshmen Adam East and Jason Hansbro should greatly elevate this unit's play over last year's garbage heap. It's impossible to describe this unit as good, but they should be significantly improved over last year's edition. Expect the Bulldogs to be able to get more pressure on opposing quarterbacks this season.

OLB
50 Sean McFadden (76) 6'3, 232, Sr (IP)
41 Marcus Rust (59) 6'2, 217, Fr
33 Bobby Hardy (56) 6'1, 217, Sr
46 Jay Allen (40) 6'3, 228, RSr

MLB
52 Chad Roberts (74) 6'3, 233, Sr
51 Kyle Hawthorne (68) 6'2, 240, Jr
42 Alan Singleton (56) 6'2, 237, Jr

Linebackers Preview: Once again, the linebacking corps looks like one of the strongest units on this team. Sean McFadden was fantastic last season and returns again this season. Chad Roberts and Kyle Hawthorne will also power this linebacking corps. With improvement along the defensive line combined with the talent among Yale's linebackers, the rush defense will hopefully be improved this season. Marcus Rust is also a promising prospect at outside linebacker.

CB
8 Kevin Robinson (62) 5'11, 178, Fr
2 Jeremy Ruud (62) 5'9, 175, Sr
29 Andy Lobdell (52) 6'1, 181, Jr
5 Michael Gray (52) 6'4, 180, Fr
27 Phil Norwood (44) 6'3, 192, RSo

FS
28 Sean Maxey (59) 6'1, 184, Fr
43 Tim Cwik (52) 6'3, 218, Sr

SS
21 Lawrence Ridgeway (80) 6'0, 186, RJr (Transfer Year)
26 Joe Boyd (62) 6'2, 195, Fr
37 Willie Smith (48) 6'2, 191, Sr

Secondary Preview: The secondary takes a step back this season with free safety Jermaine Malone's graduation. Transfer Lawrence Ridgeway will step in next season at strong safety, but for now the Bulldogs will be a bit lacking in pass defense. Three true freshmen will be starting for Yale in the secondary this season, including both safeties. There's some promise for the future in this unit, but for now it could be rough.

SPECIALISTS

K
48 Jason Burrell (70) 6'4, 221, Jr

P
40 Daniel Brown (40) 6'2, 220, Jr

Specialists Preview: Jason Burrell will once again handle place kicking, punts, and kickoffs this season for the Bulldogs. Daniel Brown will be used only in the event of Burrell being suspended or injured. Note Burrell missed three games last year due to an academic suspension.

Projected Record: 2-10

Preview: The Bulldogs should be somewhat better than in their 2006 campaign, but it may not be very clear by looking at their record. The Bulldogs should be clear favorites at home against Harvard, and we favor them pulling off an upset against one of the other weaker FBS opponents they are facing. Expect the home game against San Jose State on November 10th to be their best chance for such an upset.
