No. You're accusing of doing something wrong. so I'll be a good guy and remove if it hurts anyone. Sorry for the misunderstanding. It was just an opinion. Some may me be the same, others may be different, either way, it was just an opinion, srry

It depends on what movies you get. For whatever reason every Disney movie I've bought looks great but some companies just don't spend as much time on their transfers. Wall-E on dvd looks nice but when you watch it on Blu Ray it's a whole other level. I use this site as a guide for the best looking Blu Ray's so that I can prioritize what dvd's to replace.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

I figure its probably a good idea to get blu-rays that are used as Demos at Tech stores like Best Buy. I notice they use alot of Disney movies, I guess Batman also looks great. My roomy bought 300 because we figured that would look spectacular and it looks exactly the same as a DVD.It depends on what movies you get. But I digress, I have to say one thing about this, getting caught up in fanboyism is absolutely incredibly stupid here. Each System has its upsides and downsides, but there are great games to be played on each system. With the recent price drops, there is no better time than to own both systems. If you had to own only one, then you have a decision to make.
First Party Titles: PUSH. each System has great first party games and picking one is not possible. If you have to have MLB the Show, Get a PS3. If you have to have Halo, get a Xbox, pretty simple.
Movies: Push, PS3 has the bluray but the Next Xbox Update adds Blu-Ray quality movies to the Xbox Market place. Personally this means nothing to me, blu-ray has not made a quantum leap in quality so for me it does not justify the price increase. The 360 has Netflix all to itself (for now) and that alone makes up for the lack of a High def Movie Player.
Multiplayer games: 360. Like your mother always said, You get what you pay for.
Future Potential: PS3, To me, it just seems like there is still room to grow for the PS3 and the XBox has pretty much been maxed out. Not saying games will not get better for the 360 but the ps3 seems like it has more room to grow.Last edited by Cusefan; 08-29-2009, 02:06 AM.My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

If you buy online, blu rays are maybe $5 more than the same on DVD. Some transfers are not as good (especially older movies) but most are NOTICEABLY better than the DVD and well worth the $5 increase. If you have a small tv, you probably won't notice as big a difference.I figure its probably a good idea to get blu-rays that are used as Demos at Tech stores like Best Buy. Also, if you have a decent surround sound system the difference in audio is night and day. Lossless audio is soooo much better than dolby digital it's not even funny. Action movies are a treat on blu ray.
I do rent the occassional DVD from a redbox kiosk, but i'd never go back to buying DVDs. Once you get used to HD movies, there's no turning back.Last edited by GAMEC0CK2002; 08-29-2009, 02:29 AM.Comment

Re: The On-going Battle..Xbox 360 or PS3??
He made me laugh! And he's pretty much on point.
I'm going PS3, why cause thats what I wanted and all my friends grabbed too. If you play with your friends you obviously get what they have, or you set the new trend and force them to get what you have.
Havin worked at a video game establishment and a shipping warehouse for a major shipping company. The RROD is highly prevelent. Ton's of 360 coffins. Can the Ps3 break down? Sure it can....(hell mine did) but it wasn't nearly as prevelent as the 360.
I'm no fanboy I always told people pick what they think is right for them. But some of the arguments are just silly.
My biggest complaint was the 360 has more games.....well hell yeah it does.....it was out way before the PS3 it better have more titles.
The blu-ray to me was the icing on the cake when i bought it. Knowing exclusive games could use up the huge space a blu-ray disk holds and the blu-ray movies just look dam good IMO. Dark Knight is solid in blu-ray as is Bond.
If i was looking to buy a system right now based on value and hardware strength, id go with the PS3 hands down. But decisions are not as simple as that. Both systems have good and bad.
I used to own every system but with soo many of the same games on both I really don't see the need for a 360 for me. My wii collects enough dust on its own.Former Bison, Argonaut, TSN and Sportsnet employee.

Re: The On-going Battle..Xbox 360 or PS3??
I love my 360. I've thought about picking up a PS3 Slim for the Show, LBP... Uncharted, I suppose... but I love the 360 controller, I love XBLA, I love achievements (I am a self-admitting achievement whore), and I like what 360 gives me in general.
I've had 2 boxes RRoD on me, and I don't really mind it too much. I have my Wii for those times in which I have to send my Xbox back, and I've had my 360 for about 4 years now. In comparison, I've sent my laptops back at least 4 times in that period, and one has hinges that DESPERATELY need repair.
Do I wish the 360 was more durable? You bet your ***! But will a RROD force me to Sony's camp? No.
I do wish I could have both. I've played the Show on PSP, and it's fun and all, but I also played it on a PS3 at GameStop for a limited time and I was blown away.Rose City 'Til I Die
