It pains me to play as the Penguins. It really does.

Fleury Stops Flyers Cold, Pens Take Game 1, 2-0

Marc-Andre Fleury was perfect and the Penguins peppered the Flyers with 38 shots and 2 goals as Pittsburgh takes Game 1 by the score of 2-0.

Fleury turned away all 20 shots from Philly, while Ryan Malone scored both the Pens goals in the 2-0 victory.

Anterro Niittymaki played well despite the loss, stopping 36 of 38 shots. The Pens were outhit b the Flyers 22-21, but Pittsburgh was 2 for 5 on the powerplay. Meanwhile, Philadelphia went 0-for, missing out on 4 powerplay opportunities, including a 2 man advantage late in the 3rd period.

Pittsburgh leads the series, 1-0.

Inhance the inner Penguin man, and good job slapping the Flyers.

Re: 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs

Blackhawks Take Game 1 Convincingly, 6-3

The Blackhawks had an electric crowd on their side and got a good effort from 4th liner Brandon Bochenski as Chicago takes game 1 over Calgary, 6-3.

Bochenski scored twice within 2 minutes late in the 2nd period to open up a 4-2 lead and the 'Hawks never looked back. Adrian Aucoin's powerplay goal midway through the 3rd period looked like it would seal it, but Daymond Langkow capitalize on a Nikolai Khabibulin mistake to make it 5-3.

But two undisciplined penalties on Calgary led to their downfall, as Tuomo Ruutu scored late to give us a final of 6-3 in favor of Chicago.

Chicago leads the series, 1-0.
