Madden 22 or 21?

I actually also play some classic in M16 with MrHurricanes AM setup( based off charters). Gameplay is so enjoyable compared to recent maddens. I know Franchise is not as stout as current versions of game, but gameplay keeps me playing for fun. Latest game I played....

The gameplay in 16 is great and has never been tuned better.Would be nice if it at least had full player editing that was in the following year.Unfortunately the CPU AI was screwed up in 17 and it hasn't been quite the same since.

I own the digital version of 16 on Xbox one. I installed it on my Series X. But it seems wonky to me. Some people have said when the servers closed, it might of messed something up. Would it matter if I bought the disc instead?

I don't think it should matter but I would uninstall then reinstall and use Armor and Swords settings and see if that makes a difference.

I have the disc but felt that fully patched 16 was the way to go. The version that was better ootb was 17 but I tried that one recently and felt the qb AI was really bad in comparison.

Finally was able to order a PS5 and get it on Tuesday. Was coming here to see the opinions on whether I should wait for Madden 23, play 21 or get a used copy of Madden 22. I did buy Madden 21 since Lamar was on the cover but never played it as I kept updating a 32 Team CFM on Madden 20.

Does not having the 17th game in Madden 21 make it difficult to sim CFM or does it not matter? The offseason fiasco with big names being traded left and right makes me want to buy Madden 23 but if Madden 21 is good enough, I'll hold off another year on buying a new Madden.
