Hmm. I was just checking this, and you're right. When you made the Mountain West tournament, did you create another SGNM?

Another madden related question: Is it normal for nza editor to crash when you use an offseason save? I'm at the retirement stage in my save, and when I load it up it crashes? Did I advance to far?

Nvm, i got it to work again somehow. I think I may have figured out how to revert retirements. And make players retire.

Hello,

How does it crash? And what are you trying to do?

It shouldnt though. Rename the file to *.FRA

Are you trying to load the draft class?

Conf Realignment:

I think I am going to semi give up on the modern day realignment and go with a custom one I am designing. The power 5 conferences will be 12 teams, with 6-team subdivisions. So the Big 12 will have a championship game once again. Then I'll divy up the rest of the teams appropriately to fill in the blanks and keep it as true to today as possible. It's essentially going to be a hybrid of the past and the present. I actually think this will be more to my liking anyway.

The Power 5 will keep most of its structure. Obviously, the new 14 team divisions will have to be cut to 12. So, some teams will fall out of favor for Power 5 - primarily the teams coming from the Big East/American conference (Syracuse, Louisville, Pittsburgh and Rutgers). The SEC won't have Missouri and Aggies but they will remain in the Big 12 with the additions of West Virginia and TCU. The Big Ten will gain Nebraska (but no Maryland/Rutgers) as in real-life and Pac 12 is structured as it is today. Maryland will remain the ACC as well. That conference is untouched from back then.

Still realigning the rest though.

I did all of those things, you mentioned, I got it to consistently work by right-clicking and going to compatibility settings and running as windows xp sp3 and as admin. It's working perfectly now. I think I was able to revert some of the early retirements I had, as well has edit the imported draft class. Man, I love that tool. I never really got to experiment with it much when I used to play madden 08 on the pc.

May be a far shot, but I wonder if I can use madden amp as well.

Reverting retirement has a trick!
You need to edit a table in DB Editor called PLRT. Remove the player IDs you want to keep unretired! If you don't edit this, it'll still retire the player during or after preseason is over the following year. You can also add players to this retirement list too.

So just delete the records if I want to unretire, and add a record if I want to add a player to the retirement?

Yep! It worked for me. I unretired Brady, Palmer, Romo, Brees and Gates for my franchise and retired Megatron, Beast Mode, Raji, and Jerrod Mayo using that table. I also set the players to team 109 or 114? in the PLAY database too. I think thats the retirement team number, but you can do that in NZA.

quick note: i think if you forget to do this portion, the teams franchise salary numbers get all screwed up because one database thinks theres still a player but another does not.
