Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

Back to my QPR career after taking some time to play The Show.....

Before getting into the next match, some transfer news!

QPR signed Charlie Cook from the Youth Squad. Cook was highlighted last month as a academy player to watch. Only 16 years old and already showing great potential at a position QPR have been lacking on the wing.

QPR have also shown interest in midfielder Danny Williams from Reading. Williams only has 8 months left on his contract and has not been receiving playing time at Reading. QPR are looking to add future replacements as CDM Henry has announced he will be retiring at the end of this season and Sandro has passed his prime with the club.

Re: Max Wolters | FIFA Coaching Career

Post Match Notes
  • Top rated youth academy graduate Charlie Cook made his debut, making him the first YA graduate Wolters has ever started. Cook started at RM and played 77', ending the match with a respectable 6.5 rating. Cook showed off his pace at times, out running defenders down the side but he also showed his youth by making the wrong decisions in the final third.
  • 19 year old Nicholas Hamalainen made the start at RB. Nicholas is a pacey LB who transitioned to the right side due to injuries and fatigue with the rest of the squad. Wolters was impressed with the way Nicholas handled the ball moving up the pitch but did admit his defending needs improvement.
  • Luke Freeman scored his first league goal of the season. Freeman scored earlier in the year in a EFL cup match.
  • Jay Emmanuel-Thomas started at striker, giving Sylla a rest. ET had 3 shots on target and the assist for Freeman's goal.

Post Match
  • Ravel Morrison scored his 5th goal of the season. This one coming in the 44' after the keeper made a diving save to stop Sylla's attempt, Morrison was there to tap it in. The rumors of Morrison leaving in January are still out there, did this performance earn his position at the club? Or did it raise his selling price?
  • Luke Freeman scored for the 2nd match in a row. Coming on as a late sub, Freeman scored from the midfield line on an open net when Villa's keeper came up for a corner.
  • RB Darnell Furlong left with a leg injury and will be out 4 weeks.
  • The win moves QPR tied for points with 2nd place Norwich and but QPR are still 6 behind in GD.
