NBA Elite 11 News Post

Peter Moore just confirmed NBA Elite 11's delay on his blog:

Quote:
Over the past three years, EA SPORTS development teams have had a laser focus on creating titles packed with innovation and unsurpassed quality. The acclaim from fans and critics on most of our titles the past few years makes us proud and it also motivates us to keep getting better.

This year, we set extremely ambitious goals for our new franchise, NBA ELITE. We are creating a game that will introduce several breakthrough features that have been missing from the basketball genre. Unfortunately, NBA ELITE 11 is not yet ready and we have made a decision to delay next month’s launch. We are going to keep working until we’re certain we can deliver a breakthrough basketball experience.

Good decision. Hope the added time works for them, and they take all feedback seriously.

Peter Moore and his casual gamer focus needs to hit the road.

wow.....I guess they do listen to community insight. EA will be slightly better because of this.

Thanks for not trying to steal our money this year, It's the right decision though and I felt this was going to happen. Look at the poll to the right...I mean, wow it's sad almost. Pre-orders for this game must be at an all time low.

At one point it is good, but it is a double blow really to not have a college basketball game nor a nba game from EA this year.

Well, this just pisses me off! But I guess it's a smarter move than releasing a game that was doomed at the start.

they were clearly scared of getting killed by 2k11. smart move.

Way to go EA!!!! Elite was straight CRAP in my personal opinion. Apparently someone from the top agrees. Finally a stand on a crappy game has been made, MAP PROPS TO EA!!!!!

Wow. This is big news. I applaud you EA sports. Waiting and putting out a finished product vs looking at the financial side of it and putting out a half finished product. As long as the cycle for 2012 is worthy, Elite 12 will have a day 1 buy from me. Like I said, just so long as the product is worthy.

This is a ballsy move, and I for one am liking it.

I would tell them to put it off a whole year and skip right to Elite 12.

2k11 is a monster this year. No sense releasing a game that from what I'm hearing is half broken.

EA just made Kevin Durant the happiest man in the world lmao

Well...I am disappointed...yes it is an "incomplete" game but I was having fun with it and was looking forward to giving the devs tons of feedback to help it improve...what does this mean for NBA Jam? I guess they just sit on the 360 and PS3 versions until Elite is ready?

-For NBA LIVE 10 players, we will continue to offer free content and services throughout the 2010-11 season. We will start with a new roster update so you get all the players for the new season, free of charge. We will also provide free Dynamic DNA updates, daily, for the entire season. That’s a full season of basketball with new rosters and updates, free.

That's big news there. I think I may be able to find someone who will give me Live 10, so that'll be my "second game".

I still really like this move. I just wonder how the graphics will look on the new rookies.
