Smh @ these ratings....AMARE, Pau Gasol, and Blake Griffin, should not be rated higher then Bosh....nor should Joe Johnson

# 2 Nius @ 09/17/12 08:28 AM
I know its only overall ratings, but Avery Bradley 79

# 3 infam0us @ 09/17/12 08:32 AM
Some of these are just terrible, Jason Kidd at 80, Iman Shumpert at 80. Bradley at 79, VC at 79, Nate Robinson at 77, Duncan at 87.

Shumpert at an 80 really surprised me, that'd mean he's already borderline all-star caliber, which he isn't.

I don't usually freak about ratings but, Lin a 77 and Chalmers a 75!? Really!? At the very least Bosh should be rated ahead of Noah.

Gasol and Griffin should definitely be higher rated.

I guess MWP will be rated a 83 making the Lakers the most unbeatable force on the game. At least that's how it's looking with these ratings.

Trying to figure out some of the players signature skills, not good with the icons.

Jeremy Lin with more Sig Skills than Danny Granger and Al Jefferson is laughable.

# 9 MurkMurda @ 09/17/12 08:54 AM
I think Sig Skills really boost someones overall... Only way to explain why a lot of people are overrated in this game. The ones that are I can see having a bunch of sig skill... Like Shump I'm sure has like 3-4 defensive ones which brings him to an 80, Same with J Kidd, Steve Nash, and a few other dudes

False. He is apparently the 6th best player on their team ratings wise (excluding Barnes who is no longer on the team) because that list goes down from top to bottom ratings wise. MWP will be around a 70-72 I'd guess and that is with Sig Skills...meaning he dropped form last year to this year in the game (was 71 last year I think) but sig skills pumped him back up to the same rating or close to it.

All the Laker haters should be more worried about Jamison being a 77 and Laker cheesers starting him over MWP to score more...I'm a Laker fan but I'm going to play sim and start MWP for his defense (what good D he has left I'm not sure, but he can still D up some) and have Jamison as my weapon off the bench since the Lakers have a crappy bench it appears besides him.

This. Thank you for the unbiased opinion which the Heat fan clearly does not have. I will say in his defense that Bosh should be a 85-86 (IMO) because he is quite good.

Pssst, dont tell the Lebron guys that he's only a 98. They will get pitchforks and torches ready.

Comparing a point guard with two forwards....I don't understand the issue here...

In what world is Nate Robinson an 'A' caliber perimeter defender?! 2K, sort it out! A lot of players are getting by on reputation alone - 'Melo being the most egregious example, with his 92 overall. His defense isn't even at an 80, as far as I'm concerned.

I suppose we'll have to wait and see how the game plays out. But I'm always waiting on someone else to fix the game for me. And that's for player tendencies as well as attributes. If Antawn Jamison has another 25 ppg, 10 rbg season...

I think Tyson Chandler is deserving of an increase; he's the linchpin of the Knicks defense and primarily responsible for the Knicks' incredible defensive efficiency last season. Though, as long as his his defensive and rebounding ratings are high then I guess that's okay.

I don't knoww whether Asik's performance last season was just a product of the Thibodeau system, but I think he could be a low 70. His limited offensive repertoire aside, he's a defensive stalwart and his rebounding percentages are through the roof. I think he'll be a solid center at Houston.

It seems to be that offensive players are generally overrated and are given boosts in other areas of their game. I mean, really, Kevin Martin an 81? He conceded 109 points per 100 possessions last season. And even then his shooting percentages were pretty bad.

He's not on this list, but Kemba Walker has to absolutely be the most overrated player in 2K history. I don't care how terrible the Bobcats were last season, a 78 is absured for someone who shoots 36% and allows 111 points per 100 possessions. Hopefully Kemba can justify that rating this year, with the Bobcats' improved roster.

I disagree with a lot of these ratings. The 2K Insider is a joke and really needs to watch some basketball games and do some proper statistical analysis. It's not hard and I can't think of anyone who wouldn't want to be paid to watch NBA games.

I'll reserve my judgement on Signature Skills until I know how they work.

Of course, I'm happy that the Nets are rated higher than the Knicks I'm horribly biased so I'm not going to complain about Joe Johnson's 85 :P

And just to antagonise Kobe fans, LeBron should have Closer...

wow-wow-wow, i like Vince Carter, but he's very overrated
also i like Duncan, but he's overrated too, what's wrong with 2k?

# 19 lindo9595 @ 09/17/12 09:39 AM
Wait wait wait......why is lebrons outside an A-, since when was lebron known as a knockdown shooter??

# 20 ksuttonjr76 @ 09/17/12 09:47 AM
Wow...for being a second round playoff team who was the "closest" to eliminating the all-mighty Miami Heat, the Pacers seem like they got short-changed on their ratings.
