ACQB Week 4 Summary: Steelers (CreatineKasey) vs. Chargers (Wellwell)
Posted on August 27, 2009 at 10:51 AM.
San Diego's Defense Shines in Pittsburgh

The Charger defense, led by Cromartie, completely locked down the Steeler's offense in Pittsburgh nonetheless. Both turnovers in the game were interceptions by Cromartie. One was a very difficult jump ball that was contested, and the other was a mis-fire by Roethlisberger from the pressure being forced. Both interceptions killed long drives and kept San Diego in the driver's seat.

San Diego's run D was so suffocating that the leading Steeler runner was the QB with 33 yards. Willie Parker was held to 8 yards on 8 carries. Second and long was all too common for the Pittsburgh offense and it killed them.

Phillip Rivers was extremely efficient on offense, going 17 for 20 for 189 yards and the game winning TD. At one point Rivers completed 10 passes in a row during a super long touchdown drive. Tomlinson had to earn his yards against the best run D in the AFC. LT mustered 36 yards on 15 carries.

San Diego played like a champion today, not really making any mistakes against one of the AFC's best. He was always a step ahead of me. GG Well well!

Good game Kasey. That was a lot of fun. There were some great drives for both of our teams in the game.

My Jaguars are fortunate they do not have to play the Chargers & Steelers this season. Great write up, and I'm looking forward to seeing whether Roethlisberger and Co. can bounce back after a tough loss. [I'm sure that they can and will] :-)
