My thoughts on all things OS, sports, and life.
My thoughts on the growth and mis-steps of Operation Sports. There will be some thoughts on sports and anything else that comes to mind. I'll also talk a little bit about life in general too. I'm open to discuss anything that is allowed.

Major League Baseball finally caught up to the NFL, NHL, NBA, and even College Sports when MLB Network was launched on January 1, 2009 in approximately 50 million homes as the largest network debut in cable history.

MLB Network promises to air live games, original programming, highlights, classic games, and coverage of baseball events. The Network also has secured the rights to air Ken Burns's 'Baseball'. That is a huge plus to me.

MLB Network has a really strong cast ... Read More

I usually don't believe in making New Year Resolutions, but this coming year I am hoping to make some major changes in my life.

So, I thought it would be a really cool idea for me to use my OS Arena Blog to make a record of my desired changes/resolutions and then come back at various points throughout 2009 and see how I am doing.

Then at the end of 2009 I'll re-visit this and see how many of the things that I set out to accomplish, actually got done. So let's get ... Read More

I was thinking earlier today while driving and listening to music and I remembered when my cousin's father died suddenly and tragically a few years ago. He was still a young man of his 30s.

Apparently, he had written a living will and had some songs he really liked, so at his funeral some select classic rock songs were played and I felt like it really reflected the man's personality and also seemed to bring home the loss even more immediately.

Obviously, that left ... Read More

http://www.cracked.com/article_15231...miserable.html

I was doing some late night internet browsing, as I do most every night, and I came across an article that really struck a chord with me. It reads true and makes a lot of sense. The ironic thing is, it was written on a humor website, cracked.com, yet it is a very "real", very meaningful piece of writing.

If you haven't read it, give the link up there a click and let me know what you ... Read More

As the title indicates, I'm 27 years old. It feels weird, kinda like in between being young (16-24) and middle aged (30-40?).

I was wondering if anyone else here feels the same way? I don't feel like I fit in well with any "generation". Kind of like a gap is there. Most everyone I hang out with is either a few years younger or some years older than me. I don't even know that many people that are my age.

My best friends are all in college or younger than me, but the ... Read More

Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. The busiest shopping day of the entire year. Some stores in my area will be opening at 3 AM. Most stores will be having some kind of ridiculous discounts to get people in the door.

I work at a retail store. I have to work the opening shift on Black Friday. I'm pissed off. I wasn't scheduled to work Friday when my schedule was made this week. I was scheduled for Thanksgiving day, which I accepted because after all, someone has to do it. ... Read More

I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year. I personally do not feel so much of the stress that others do in regards to the holidays. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with me not having kids or a spouse to try and make happy for Christmas and I don't have in-laws that I am forced to visit. I am thankful for these things this time of year.

As a gamer, this is great time of year as well, so many big releases are coming or have come out since late September. For all of the ... Read More

So @ 2pm today (EST) I went to the dentist to get my bottom two wisdom teeth cut out. I went in, filled out the necessary forms, and waited to be called back.

I was called back fairly quickly and given an X-Ray of my jaws. While I was waiting for that, I was given something for pain - Helicon I think? I don't know, but it didn't help. I waited another 15 minutes or more and then the dentist came in with his assistant (she was cute). The dentist proceeded to shoot my gums up with ... Read More

So here we are, November the 10th, 2008. I first joined Operation Sports back on July 21st, 2002. We had probably less than 700 members and maybe 50 that were regulars and active at the time. Many of those regulars from back then are sadly gone now for one reason or another. I miss many of the old guard, some of them were like real friends to me. It was indeed a sad day when OS splintered. I won't get into the issues that caused the riff, I just wanted to give a nod to all of those that were "OS ... Read More
