It's an absolute mess and shouldn't have been in Brazil to begin with.

But corporate greed rules again.

I honestly feel sorry for the athletes. Who knows what type of viruses/sicknesses they'll bring back to their home countries.

And the Brazilian poor people won't see a penny off this.

Re: 2016 Rio Olympics

Opening ceremonies start soon.

lol, funny though to think NBC requested they break long standing Olympic tradition, and not announce USA in Portuguese(as they do for every "parade of nations" to announce the countries in alphabetical order based on that countries national language), but instead have it actually just announced as United States of America, cause fans might tune in too late and miss them(since they'll be announced as Estados Unidos da América).

lol, thinking they'd break 100+ year tradition just to help NBCs tv ratings for a real brief time in the program.

Re: 2016 Rio Olympics

Didn't watch the opening ceremony, cause i was playing D&D with some friends...

A friend of mine may give me a ticket to see some rugby matches next monday. I wanted to buy tickets to see the judo and tkd competitions but they're somewhat expensive for me right now (those D&D books were not cheap anyway...).

Brazil put a miserable showing against South Africa in Men's Soccer, and we will probably end these games without the gold medal (an obsession for Brazil's soccer)

It's kinda hard for one to imagine this, but even living in the host city of the Olympic games, the only sports event i can think about right now is the start of NFL's season...

There will be some interesting things to see, like USA obviously winning the gold medal in Basketball, Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps' displays of talent, some great tennis matches, and the martial arts competitions.

I really only care about track and field. I will watch the swimming though. Place looks unsanitary as hell. If they are going to continue to hold Olympic games they need to settle on one venue. No one can afford to keep building new facilities.
