MLB2K7 is the high bar for sports game graphics - nothing else really close. And that level was your least expectation? Yeah, I'd say your expectations were pretty high

Re: IGN preview & new video

Just rewatched that vid where the guys runs up the middle with the DT. It looks like he was about to drop into coverage first. The play is a zone blitz as you can see the DE on the left drop into coverage, the OLB lined up as a DE on the right drops into coverage and I'm suspecting that the NT was also supposed to drop into coverage but the player manually rushed him. The Center does the right thing in picking up the SS on the blitz. That tells me one thing though, psychic blocking It's in all games

Rod Woodson is close at CB though, but are there any other gold CB's. He might be the only one. Should still be a great game to play though.
That's a testament to Rice though. Look at that vid again. The WR on the opposite side is running the exact same route to the strong side......he is not nearly as successful as Rice in getting the DB to turn his hips. Rice will be a hot commodity in this game.

Yeah that's why I wasn't mad with Rice on the genrics, but if he does that on my legends then I'm going to have something to say about that.

Re: IGN preview & new video

shame on vc for naming the "field pass", lol. i have to say, there are a lot of things in 2k5 that almost go unnoticed... guess they needed to name one. that type of presentation is what everyone seems to be forgetting about in 2k5 when talking about all the presentation being gone. the good news is, all those cut scenes and little extensions to plays were as much a part of the great presentation in 2k5 as the halftime show, etc. the bad news is that's all field pass is.

i guess that's not really bad news. all the interactions are new, now have voice overs, and it's now extended into the huddle and other places. plus the lack of a license is gonna be HUGE for td celebrations. it all looks great, but lol @ field pass. they've had field pass since what, 2k3? this is just new improved, beefed up NG field pass.

seems like that's what the game is too. i do hope there are some new gang tackles. there are too many variations you could have but there haven't been any new ones shown i don't think. i really hate watching ign guys play. the write up was actually pretty good, but i just don't think these guys are good at sports games. maybe try a couple of jukes, eh? how bout seeing what that new tackling system is about once or twice?

i wasn't too impressed with the vids but that's what i was expecting... everything very vanilla.

btw, as mentioned that was a flea flicker so the safety froze on the fake. plus this guy was setting up situations so he was surely playing on a lower level. the focus was the TD so he had to create a situation where he'd get one. same for all the other videos too. you guys are looking at the wrong stuff. these 1 min clips are to showcase one thing in each and all of the criticisms have been on the exact thing that would allow that one thing to be shown.

for example:

- safety needs to be weak to complete that bomb, call play where safety should bite.
- line needs to be weak to pound in td run, put d in bad set for goalline situation
- blitzer needs to come in easily for the sack, call bear d against 5 wr set

he creates situations to show off something in the game.

RE: George Constanza.. In the game clip, its Definetly a G. L. Constanza. Unless i read all your comments wrong, it looks like the parody is infact correct in and in this game to reflect the TV show.

Re: IGN preview & new video

this game wasn't even on my radar until now.

I just love how the authenticity of this game comes through on these videos. You can feel that solid 2k gameplay when watching these. It's hard to describe into words.

Maybe the new teams is going to be a breath of fresh air compared to the other football games that have just become stale to play in the past few years.

If the game is half of what 2k5 was, then I won't be caring about real teams, players, etc....

Once again wwharton, you highlight things and make sense of them. After reading that I will watch the vids again and enjoy them for what they are.
