And as your opponent in that game, I was both inspired and, well, pissed It's just like Butkus to play with a broken nose. And here I thought I'd be able to run the ball, only to have my hopes dashed by that bastard.

Re: The Little Things That Make APF Special...

On the theme of injuries, I just created a team with some hitters at corner, and Lane put a few licks on Ricky Sanders over the course of the game. In the 4th quarter and in a close game, Lane hit Sanders in the ribs, separating him from the ball and putting him out for the game. It just looked classic and you had the feeling that Sanders had finally succumbed to the punishment that Lane was dishing out. The rib shot was especially great, as Sanders was exposed reaching for the catch and Lane really showed his bit hit ability.

Fortunately for me, Sanders isn't as tough as Butkus, and he didn't come back into the game.

Re: The Little Things That Make APF Special...

playing a game last night...
i had a defender grab the facemask of my ball carrier, spin him around and then release the facemaskas if he was trying to avoid the 15 yard penalty,...well my ballcarrier didn't go down, i continued my run for a touchdown and was able to decline the facemask penalty.
the annimation of the entire sequence was sweet, and to finish it off wit ha score was even better.

Playing my Season Game last night against the Rhinos.....Aikman dropped back...flushed to the right from pressure do too Reggie White from the left side, threw the ball while being hit by Jack Youngblood....Puts up a wobbly duck towards the sideline where Eugene Robinson makes a tip toe catch inbounds for the interception.......I rewinded that play at least ten times......

I never sold this game.

I'm about to pop it in again. I thought this was the most disappointing games released last year, but truthfully I did not give it enough time.

I thought the animations were SICK!

So I'm going for it again.

Re: The Little Things That Make APF Special...

playing the game last night, i was running the ball, in doing so i had my receiver that was throwing a block get knocked on his back, as i try to hurdle him, i get hit and on my way down the receivers foot comes up ,kicks the ball from underneath and kocks the ball loose straight up into the air. the annimation and the interaction was fantastic. the defender tried to snatch the ball out of the air (exactly what he should have done)but his momentum carried him away from it allowing me to recover the ball. it was a great play. i saved the replay and i wish i could upload it.

Re: The Little Things That Make APF Special...

I started playing this game again after giving up on Madden. I was enjoying it more than i thought. I was seeing little interesting things during the game play that you don't see with madden. One play I took notice on was a run. My HB was running towards the sideline, and took a hit knocking him out of bounds. As he was rolling on the ground after taking the hit, the coach and 2 players on the sideline scrambled to avoid being mowed over. I know it has little to do with the outcome of anything, but its little things like this that add to the realism of the game.
