Re: Can you SEE the player RATINGS?

It's not about the numbers. It's about the results. Keep track of who can do what you need them to do and in what situations they come through. The horrid user interface does indeed make this a LOT harder than it should be...

Re: Can you SEE the player RATINGS?

good points, red robin. i like what they're trying to do but i think they didn't think the generics through enough. it seems that like me, people are willing to do some real scouting instead of just comparing numbers but they've gotta do a better job of helping us scout. there should be special practices dedicated specifically to evaluating players. maybe individual drills like madden has or even just an expanded list of attributes, good and bad. give us a scouting report like nfl coaches have for every single player.

and most importantly (i think you mentioned this also in another thread, red robin) if you edit your team, don't reset the generics.

to the original poster, as mentioned you pick your generics in groups. the oline example above is one case but the same is true for qb and rb (even if it's for the backups), wr, secondary, linebackers and d line.

Re: Can you SEE the player RATINGS?

I can understand them removing the actual number ratings to force players to do more scouting and not rely on specific numbers for each attribute ( altho, I think they only did this because of the real Legends players...they didnt want to give specific visual number ratings for each player)

So what they should have done then was to list each player's attribute categories and just assign them a Letter Grade like A thru F. This way it looks more like a scouted rating that can still be somewhat vague.

To some of the other fellas that mentioned just scout your players better. Well it isnt just about my players...its about knowing the other players. Without any ratings to go by, you have no clue who these generic players are and what they can do. This removes the whole scout and preperation aspect of the game that made the 2K series so great in 2K5!

However, I still dont have the game yet, but Im speculating based on what I am hearing here. I mean, with no ratings whatsoever on a player, how do you know what to expect from a certain reciever when your going up against them...or running back. There should be something...like a scouting report blurb, a few words in his profile of strengths and weaknesses...something

no?

Well I think if you are in season play, I would usually just go to the season stats menu and see what they have been doing up to date so far.

One thing that would have been great is to be able to watch a game of the other teams during season mode. Why not give us this ability to be able to scout different formations and plays of our next opponent by letting us see the other games play out.
