Well, the only competition for that title would be NFL 2K5, and while I prefer 2K5, even I can see the gameplay in APF is improved. I doubt anyone who plays video football would disagree, if we're talking "strictly from a gameplay point of view" that is.

I dunno. There are plenty of flaws in this game that can ruin the whole game. Hot routing corners and Out routes are almost guaranteed catches and are ridiculously abusable. The CPU AI is just too dumb to know what to do on those routes and are defenseless against them. The animations put this game in a league of its own, but the exploits bring it back down to par.

human vs human - not abusing glitches and exploits it is easily the best representation of football (strategy, animations, and implementation) between the lines.

One of the problems in this game is that the gameplay is too deep. This a team building sim, where players abilities have a major impact on the scheme you run. There are threads on here about kickers. How different legend kickers have their own strenghts.

I have to disagree. I play with generic corners and stop out routes and corner routes.
