Used to be Nick Buoniconti for me. He is one of the most unique players in the game. Nobody else really has his combination of attributes, and if you snag him in a draft league, you're golden.

But if I'm just trying purely to win games, it's James Lofton. He's the fastest WR (I think player) in this game, and he's always one bad defensive playcall away from paydirt.

Re: What player can't you build a team without?

I'm compulsive about changing my team makeups, so I usually only roll with one grouping for about 5 games or so.

That said, I've made a discovery at the QB position, and I don't know if I can use anyone else.

Bart Starr is sickeningly good. I went from not being able to score at all (10-17 points a game, max) to being able to score 20 on a decent day and 35+ on a good day. And the only change was from a bronze QB to Starr.

His leadership allows me to keep the rest of the offensive talent at the bronze level, which in turn helps my defense, and his clutch allows me to trust him down the stretch.

I could go on and on about the things this guy does well. Love him!

Night Train has to be on all my teams from now on. I love having a shutdown DB.

I've had about 20 posts talking about how Starr is a Gold in Silver pants. He's great. He can run the spread too. I could not agree with you more.

One more OSer who has seen the light.

Dick Anderson and Albert Lewis are probably overused by me on my legend teams. I keep it pretty fresh everywhere else.
