Man the route running in this game is still untouchable

There still hasn't been a game that comes to close to getting route running animations as good as All Pro, I've been replaying over and over again just because of how beautiful the animations are. I've had this game since day 1 and it still amazes me how realistic they are.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Agreed. The animations in this game are incredible. I love throwing to my reciever as he is making his fake cut to the outside and runs the post and as soon as he turns his head, the ball is there. Its so fluid and lifelike. Just wish it was more customizable, and had some type of franchise. I've played 3 or 4 seasons. But after awhile, i just want something new...

Amen. When it comes to route running, momentum, and realistic football. APF2K8 is still the best to date.

Yep agreed re the route running. I've had Madden 10 for a couple days (haven't posted any impressions yet) and unfortunately it doesn't come close to touching APF's receiver play. Here's an incompletion vid I made awhile back that I love. You see Rice's route adjusted slightly because of the DB contact, then he reacts to the pass by twisting his body appropriately to try to make the catch (although he doesn't). But he's adhering to some sense of momentum and movement that Madden doesn't have yet. I love how he turns his head/body to locate the ball:

I'm getting Madden 10(first time I've ever bought my own Madden game) so I've been playing the five minute demo but after playing All Pro again it's really disappointing how so much that was in All Pro still isn't in any other games.

Yeah, it's easy to forget given that it's been so long. I hadn't played 2K5 in a while but put it in a few weeks ago and was pretty surprised at how well they nailed things from a presentation standpoint and a gameplay/immersion standpoint. I always read how great a job they did from a presentation standpoint but it really stands out when you see it. I get that same feeling from a lot of the little things APF does from a gameplay standpoint
