Not a knock on this game but more of an illumination of my personal gaming habits.

without repeating all the criticisms of this game I'll sum it up this way. it just doesn't "feel good" to me. and that's what i meant by "the first moment of truth". I would rather not have to learn to love this game. When i demo'd FIFA 10 i fell in love instantly.

You know I kinda felt the same way about the passing game but the running game was so much fun and the CPU's offense was so hapless I was always in the game so I never got that frustrated. The crazy pileups kept me on the demo too.

Then once I learned the passing game it was almost as good as the running game. I would still change the passing game. The cam is that of a 5'5 QB, the right stick would be better for looking and the buttons should select WRs.. but I want them to keep the vision. Once you are able to read and shred a defense with a QB in Backbreaker its more exiting and more rewarding than anytthing I have ever played.

The weekend that I bought it, I put it on eBay and then took it off at least 5 times hoping the game would get better lol. I called Gamestop and they would only give me 25 bucks.

I picked the wrong natural motion game, should have went with Red Dead Redemption.

news to me-I like the camera so that's not an issue. The camera would be superb on defense also if the CPU scared you with it's run.

With a lack of attributes I just don't see this representing the game of football, it is more of whatever user can master the game will be better. I love doing dynasties and that sort of thing. You can't do that in this game. Everything just felt too arcadish to me.

It seems as if people either love this game, or hate it. Unfortunately I fall into the latter with it. I liked the idea of the physics based game, but it just didn't represent the game of football to me. I can't tell you the amount of time while playing football I ran into my own linemen and didn't fall down. I know, it's physics when one object runs into another object it has to react, but it is amazing how the human body with training and talent can avoid or handle these little bumps that send your ragdoll in the game flying.

If they make another I will rent it as well and see if there are any more improvements on making it resemble the game of football that I love so much. Until then it will be a "cool" alternative gaming engine, but never a good football game.
After playing the NCAA demo I was reminded of what a sim game is-it felt like I was playing pinball-passing is way too easy. I'll stick with BB, and hopefully a very thorough patch.

The patch will be very indepth JayBee74. I almost flinched when I saw the graphics in NCAA 11, but as I watched the really strange looking locomotion animations play out, I was convinced that nothing has changed except the graphics and presentation. Gameplay still comes first. Hopefully, both NCAA 12 and Madden 12 will be physics based.

I'm sticking with Backbreaker and when BB2 drops in a couple years, I will be picking that up, too.

After the patch hits, I'll probably give this game another shot. Get it from Gamefly and if it is improved will buy it.

There's a base for what could be a good game in the future, but in it's current state it just does not hold my attention.

Which is funny because I am actually encouraged by the NCAA demo for the first time in about half a decade.

Not me BK-I actually wanted it to be, but after playing BB I found the passing game to be incredibly easy and very unsatisfying on All Pro and Heisman. The running game seemed to have more UMPH, but overall the game doesn't do it for me.

I'm a little burnt out on the current state of BackBreaker. I've played several exhibition games, but will give it a rest until the patch comes out.
