Re: robbycano's New York Yankees (MLB 09: The Show)

New York Yankees News

Bronx, NY - The New York Yankees have discussed interest in the free-agent Ben Sheets. "As of right now, nobody has much interest in him." commented GM Brian Cashman. "If we do try to sign him, somebody in the rotation will have to go." As of right now, the Yankees have a solid starting rotation and noone really needs to go. If the Yankees would sign Ben Sheets, the person that would go would be Joba Chamberlain. But you also have Phil Hughes in the bullpen who is also a starter. A source close to the Yankees has said that the Yankees might possibly trade Chamberlain and Hughes for a good CF, that would make the bench for the Yankees even deeper, which would include Melky Cabrera and Eric Hinske. But the Yankees, as of right now, are not going to negitioate with Ben Sheets and the trade talks will stay talks, and the Yankees will see how Joba performs in his starts

Re: robbycano's New York Yankees (MLB 09: The Show)

New York Yankees News

Bronx, NY - The New York Yankees made the blockbuster trade of the year. And Joba didn't even go anywhere. The Yankees traded away struggling Chien-Ming Wang and Ramiro Pena to the Texas Rangers in exchange for Josh Hamilton. "The Texas Rangers called us and heard about our trade rumors. They said they wanted Wang and they said we'll give you Hamilton. How coudl you not accept that?" GM Brian Cashman commented. To top the day off, as we all knew it was coming, the Yankees signed Ben Sheets to a 4-year, $60.1 mil deal. "This is the main reason why we traded away Wang. All we wanted was Ben Sheets. " Brian Cashman said. Hamilton will not play this Cleveland series but will make debut against the Oakland Athletics. Ben Sheets will also make his debut during that series.
