"Game Recap"

Oakland jumped out early and often on Joe Blanton forcing him out after only 1.1 innings pitched allowing the Athletics to sit some of their starters at the beginning of this long 20 games in 20 days stretch of the schedule. Jim Thome hit a 3 run homerun in the 1st inning. Then in the 2nd inning David Wright hit his 150th career homerun in style blasting a grand slam into the left field stands and was congratulated at home plate (Pictured Above). Jay Bruce would put an exclamation point on the inning with a solo shot on the very next pitch. Baltimore would score 3 runs in the 4th inning, but that was all she wrote as the A's go on to win 9-3.

I am not sure if he will make it to the bigs this season. He is going to be the opening day starter at left field next season for sure when Edmonds retires and possibly Podsednik. Podsednik will be a bench warmer if he don't retire. He will be up in September for sure, but just not sure if it will be before the call ups or not. Injuries will play a big factor aswell.

He had a rough April in AAA, but has been on fire in May. I may do that. I want to check out Aroldis Chapman aswell. It depends on what happens during the season I guess.

I chose Austin Jackson over Heyward in the 1st place only because of the speed factor for center field. I don't think Heyward can play there, but left is a good position for him I think since Bruce has right locked up.

"Game Recap"

Detroit jumped out to a huge lead that they would never give up even though they tried. Pedro Feliz and Jason Bartlett combined for 3 RBI's int he 1st inning. Feliz and Bartlett once again came through in the 3rd inning with a 2 run triple by Feliz and a sac fly by Bartlett (Pictured Above) to give their team a 6-0 lead. Jim Edmonds started the Oakland come back with a huge grand slam in the 4th inning and Jim Thome hit a solo homerun in the 6th inning, but the Tigers bull pen buckled down and held on for the 6-5 victory.
