Bullpen Holds

Well another game where the Rangers couldn't really score a lot of runs. But hey, a win is a win. Nelson Cruz sparked a little offense in the 2nd with a solo HR just over the reach of CF Adam Jones. "I swear, if he had caught that, I would have gone crazy," Cruz said. It seems that Texas has hit a ton of Warning Track Power Balls, I can count at least 5 in 2 games. Lowe & Oliver were struggling with control in the 7th, so that's when Wash made the call for Neftali for a 2+ inning save. He didn't disappoint either, giving up just 1 hit while striking out 4. We saw what he could do in spring training, so we know he could handle it.

Yet another game without a lot of offensive numbers. The Rangers just can't seem to be getting a lot of runs, which is uncommon for this team. Nelson Cruz provided the only offense for the team, a 2-run HR in the 4th inning off Phil Coke. Detroit could get only 1-run off of Ogando, which came via the HR by Alex Avila.

Feeling Young

Michael Young is definitely trying to prove to the team where they would be without him. He's doing a good job so far. He leads the team with a .364 batting average and managed to hit his 1st HR this year. C.J. Wilson was equally impressive today as well. He improved to 2-1 with the win and added 5 more K's to give him 19 on the year in 3 starts.

Lewis Prevails

Things are going very well for the Rangers & Colby Lewis so far early in the season. Now sitting at 9-3, before the dreaded series with the New York Yankees. Combine good pitching with timely hitting and the Rangers have been pretty successful. The Rangers have received some good news from the injury standpoint finally. Brandon Webb, Tommy Hunter, & Scott Feldman will all be activated in 2 days. Though All 3 are expected to make starts at AAA before joining the club.
