The Reds got back on the winning track against the Atlanta Braves over the weekend at Great American Ballpark. Cincinnati improves to 5-4 on the young campaign, and move to a game behind the Cubs for first place in the Central. Aroldis Chapman and Edinson Volquez continued their hot starts to the season both pitchers earned their 2nd victories of the season while pitching 7 scoreless frames.

Reds lose 2 of 3 against Cardinals, drop to 6-6

The Cincinnati Reds fell to 6-6 on the young season by losing 2 of 3 home games against the Cardinals. Jon Jay hit 2 homers in the series, and Johnny Cueto left his start with soreness in his forearm. Luckily the Reds are still only a game out of first place behind the Cubs.

Cueto to DL

The Reds placed pitcher Johnny Cueto on the 15 day disabled list today, he has an ERA over 11 to start the season and only lasted 2 innings in his last outing verse the Cardinals before leaving with soreness in his arm. The team said this is more of a precautionary measure and some "time to let Johnny work it out mentally". The Reds will replace Cueto on the 25 man roster with pitcher Daryl Thompson who is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA in two starts in AAA.
