(Still experimenting with setups here. Hopefully I find one that others and I will like)

Gonzalez homers twice in Dodgers 4-2 win

Adrian Gonzalez hacked at a first pitch fastball on the outside edge of the plate in the first. The ball was promptly deposited into the RF bleachers. Gonzalez would add another 2 out homer in the 4th inning to spearhead the Dodgers offense attack to a 4-2 victory. "I should've learned my lesson the second time around to not throw him a hittable fastball on the first pitch of the AB" Trevor Cahill remarked after the game.

The Diamondbacks inability to take advantage of men on base really cost them this game. "To get 11 hits and only 2 runs is poor production. We're better than that." Cody Ross said. Although Ross is definitely not to blame for the lackluster offense. Ross continues to swing a hot bat. After being placed 4th in the lineup for the first time this season, Ross rewarded Kirk Gibson with 3-4 performance with a HR.

Aces square off tomorrow as the Dbacks Ian Kennedy face 2011 Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw. First pitch is at 6:10 PM

Re: "Slithering to the Top"- A MLB 13 Arizona Diamondbacks franchise

Gio hated Pre-calculus. He already knew all this math, there was no point in being in this class. So, as he did every day, he started doodling in his notebook. Well calculating hypothetical WAR equations was as close to doodling as he would ever get.

Something hit the back of his head. He twisted around and saw a wadded-up piece of paper on the ground behind his seat. After carefully glancing at the teacher to make sure she wasn't paying attention, (She never was paying attention. She was more focused shopping online than actually teaching these kids math.) Gio picked up the paper and opened it up. Written across the paper in big blue ink was "GO YANKS!!". He turned sharply toward Kyle, the resident obnoxious Yankee fan in the class, and Kyle gave Gio a big smirk. Gio read the finer print below. "Built better by Brian Cashman than your Snake team ever will be."

Great. Now he was getting spitball smack talk thanks to his GM role. As if high school social life wasn't hard enough...

Probable pitchers for Arizona Diamondbacks (7-5) vs. New York Yankees (4-9)

Game 1: Brandon McCarthy (1-1, 8.37 ERA) vs. Phil Hughes (1-0, 2.03 ERA) (User played game)

Game 2: Wade Miley (0-1, 6.35 ERA) vs. Ivan Nova (1-1, 7.71 ERA)

Game 3: Trevor Cahill (0-1, 4.15 ERA) vs. C.C Sabathia (0-2, 11.30(!) ERA)

Re: "Slithering to the Top"- A MLB 13 Arizona Diamondbacks franchise

Dbacks get into a slugfest with Yankees, win 13-12

Yankee Stadium has a reputation for being as difficult to score in as a Little League stadium. And this game was no exception. 25 runs, 31 hits, 7 homeruns and 12 pitchers later, the Diamondbacks barely came out on top, 13-12.

Jason Kubel provided 2 homeruns and Miguel Montero had a homerun and 2 doubles to add to the big offensive effort. Mark Teixeira (Ladies and Gentlemen, it took me 20 tries to spell his name right) had a 3 run homer to give the Yankees the lead in the 6th and Alex Rodriguez had 4 hits in the losing effort.

The Diamondbacks got out to an early 4-0 lead after 4 innings after Brandon McCarthy seemed to be in control. But in the 5th, the Yankees struck with a 3 run homer by Vernon Wells. Then the Yankees struck with another 3 run homer, this time by Teixeira, to take the lead 8-5. Unfazed by the loss of the lead, the Diamondbacks scored 4 runs in the top of the 7th and 8th innings.

David Hernandez came into the 9th with a 13-9 lead and got 2 tough outs of Jeter and Cano. Then, down to his last strike, Teixeira leaned into a curveball to get a HBP. Alex Rodriguez ripped a fastball down the 1st base line followed by Travis Hafner homering to bring the Yankees within one.

Kirk Gibson gave Hernandez a visit to the mound and he promptly retired Vernon Wells to give the Dbacks the win.

"Obviously, I wish my bunch would've allowed less runs than the average amount of points the Arizona Cardinals score but a win is a win," Pitching coach Charles Nagy said after the game.

Gio walked into math class on Friday (April 19). He scanned the room for Kyle the Yankees fan. Gio locked his eyes on him and he turned away. Gio felt a sense of satisfaction wash over him. The next series was vs. the Rockies and he felt like the Dbacks could win that series as well..

Projected starters for the series vs. the Rockies

April 19th: Ian Kennedy (3-0, 1.13 ERA) vs. Jhoulys Chacin (0-0, 5.21 ERA) User played game

April 20th: Daniel Hudson (2-0, 1.35 ERA) vs. Juan Nicasio (0-2, 7.71 ERA)

April 21st: Brandon McCarthy (1-1, 9.82 ERA) vs. Christian Friedrich (2-1, 2.70 ERA)
