Thanks for the comment and this will absolutely continue to be updated. I just started my full time summer job so I've been busy trying to adjust to that...especially considering I previously had been sitting on my *** playing video games all day lol. That said, I have been playing the franchise with my bits and pieces of spare time and have 3-5 games that should be ready to be updated sometime this week (whenever I get some spare time)
Re: TheNumber35 Plays 162: A Colorado Rockies Dynasty (The Show 13)
Alright guys, I'm gonna post these games I have to update in a different format...so please let me know which one you prefer (I'll honestly probably run with both at different times, depending on how much time I have and if I'm behind or not lol)

This game was a crazy back and forth affair as the Rockies ended up taking this thing in a wacky turn of events. The Rockies jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a Gonzalez homer and a Rosario RBI single in the 1st two innings. But the Padres scored 5 unanswered runs off Christian Friedrich in his first start of the season. Friedrich lasted 6 innings while allowing those 5 runs, but he looked pretty good outside of the horrid 6th inning he experienced. Anthony Bass took the ball for the Padres and pitched 7 innings of three run baseball which would have been good enough for a win if the pen hadn't imploded. Gregerson gets handed the loss in this game, but if it weren't for the dropped CarGo popup...the two out grand slam wouldn't have ever happened and the Padres would have won the game. But Tulowitzki worked his magic and willed the Rockies to victory in their home opener.

Wow, Michael Cuddyer was definitely the player of the game in this one for me. He went 4-4, a homer short of the cycle with 3 RBIs and this throw he made in the 9th inning ended the game as he nailed Alonso at the plate to finish it. Chris Volstad pitched a pretty solid 6 innings of 3 run ball for me enroute to his first victory of the season. Jeff Francis nailed down 3 innings of relief to pick up a save and things are looking up now that the Rocks are at home.

Lueb-tacular: Luebke Handcuffs Rockies in Series Finale
And this surprises nobody: the Rockies get rolling for a couple games and then run into a bulldog on the mound in Cory Luebke. Luebke stifled the dominant Rockies offense and held them to a lone run over his 6.2 innings of work before the Padres bullpen finally held a lead in the series. Josh Rutledge hit his first homer of the season in this game but it wasn't enough to lead the Rockies past Luebke. Jhoulys Chacin (0-1) is the tough luck loser as he tossed 7 innings of 2 run baseball, but ended up taking his first loss of the season anyways. The Rockies after a 2-1 home stand head to San Fran to play the defending champion Giants for 3 games.

This loss hurts, not because JDR pitched 5 solid innings of 2 run ball (granted he was in and out of trouble the whole time, but that isn't the point) but more because of the way the Rockies lost. They lost via a squeeze bunt...a stinking suicide squeeze is how this epic game ended. Bochy definitely outsmarted us here because I was not expecting that at all. The offense did enough off Madison Bumgarner to knock him out, but not enough to power us past the defending World Champs, whose bullpen was spectacular in this game after Bumgarner left. The thing that killed us in this one were the 2nd inning homers by the Giants, since Sandoval and Pence hit hanging sliders a long long way. If JDR could have kept just one of those down, this game would have probably gone differently.

Juan Nicasio has been the best pitcher on the staff so far in the young season. Juan pitched 7 sparkling innings against the best team in the division (until someone dethrones them), allowing his lone run on a Pence dinger. Carlos Gonzalez hit his 2nd homer of the season, this one a 2 run shot off Tim Lincecum that gave the Rockies the lead they would need to win the game. Gonzalez also scored the other run of the game on a Colvin base hit later in the game. Lincecum pitched very well except for the longball to CarGo, but takes the loss due to the gem turned in by his counterpart. Rafael Betancourt picks up the save after Brother and Escalona bridged the gap to the 9th inning.

Vogelsong twirled himself a beautiful complete game, 7 hitter today in the series finale against Colorado. Vogelsong punched out 4 batters and gave up a lone run in the 8th inning when relief pitcher Jon Garland laced a double to the wall driving in Josh Rutledge. Christian Friedrich allowed 3 first inning runs to the Giants who pounced on him early, however he did settle into a grove and go 5 innings of 4 run baseball. The story today is definitely Vogelsong though, who at one point had retired 17 batters in a row before Rutledge singled off him in the 8th inning. The Rocks now head to San Diego to play the very same Padres who they slammed at Coors not even a week ago

Like the headline says, CarGo and Wilin Rosario homered twice and really dominated the Pads from the start, with a strong 3 run first inning. Followed up with a 3 run 3rd inning and the Rockies were rolling. The one problem with today's game was the starter Chris Volstad leaving the game after 3.1 innings of sparkling work with an apparent finger injury. Reports out of the Rockies camp are that it was just a right index finger blister, and he should be able to make his next start. Clayton Richard was hammered for 6 earned over 2.2 innings and takes his second loss on this young season.

The Rockies dropped the second game of this series by a score of 5-4 on a big homer late from Chase Headley. Chacin only allowed 2 runs in the game, but was hit around and hit hard most of the day (as proven by his 10 hits allowed over 6 innings.) The real problem for the Rockies was when Matt Belisle allowed a homer to Chase Headley who went 3-4 on the day and drove in 3 of the 5 runs for the Pads. Troy Tulowitzki homered and drove in 3 of the Rockies runs with the blast. But it wasn't enough today.

Today was a great bounce back for the Rockies who outpitched the Padres in a 2-1 victory. While Tyler Colvin homered and Todd Helton had a 2 hit game (his first of the season by the way), the story of the day was Jorge De La Rosa who pitched a complete game 7 hitter. Jorge dominated the Padres over the first 5 innings, allowing no baserunners through the 5th. However the 6th inning and beyond would be a little "rocky" for JDR as he allowed 7 hits over that time span and the lone run the Padres would score. But when it came down to it, De La Rosa locked up the Padres and secured the victory by punching out the last batter looking.

What a game for the Rockies! They fell behind to the Mets early on a couple of Ike Davis homers, Ike was then intentionally walked his next time up (took them long enough to figure that chit out.) But the Rockies would persevere and fight back into the game to have it at a 1 run deficit going into the 9th inning. That's when Jonathan Herrera stepped up in his first start of the season in for Chris Nelson (who has been scuffling in his own right.) Anyways Herrera who already had a ringing single earlier in the game came up and knocked home a pair of runs with a big 2 RBI triple that ended the game in a 5-4 Rockies walk off. Bobby Parnell blew the save, his first blown save of the season and Wilin Rosario homered again to push the Rocks past New York. Juan Nicasio pitched 6 innings of 4 run ball to counter the 6.2 innings of 3 run ball from Shaun Marcum.

Oh boy was Christian Friedrich excellent today, he dominated the Mets and made them look foolish today. He was getting weak contact and got 15 groundball outs in 7 innings of shining shutout baseball. He handed the ball over to the bullpen in Rex Brothers and Rafael Betancourt and it paid off as they locked down the Mets for the last two innings. Jordan Pacheco was the story on offense as he pummeled a homer off Jon Niese for his first in these chronicles.

Well, this is a day to forget...to say the least. 14 runs is a tough beating to take, especially when the opposing starter is punching out 10 batters over 8 innings of work. Especially when his heater is hitting 99 on the gun and you can't catch up to it. Especially when Chris Volstad, who was dominant in his first couple starts, just got shelled. Hard! He may not be making many more starts at the big league level with Pom and Chatwood on hot streaks in AAA ball. Anyways, the offense was led by Tyler Colvin again who hit another dinger. But when David Wright, Ike Davis, Lucas Duda and Zach Wheeler combine for 12 RBIs...its a bad day.

Well that's more like it. After giving up 14 runs yesterday, we locked back in and scored 10 of our own to keep up this mini hot streak we've gone on recently. Led by Jordan Pacheco and the hero of the day in Chris Nelson, the Rockies pummeled Johan Santana for 6 runs over 3 innings. He threw 89 pitches in that time frame and was too gassed to continue any further. Chris Nelson broke out of his gigantic slump with a 3-4 day, including a pair of doubles, a walk, and a homer. And the diving play above which resulted in an out. And the beginning of the game seemed in doubt with Chacin giving up 3 first inning runs...but after that he was lights out, only allowing 1 more run over the final 5 innings he worked. The bullpen came on and kept the game in hand the rest of the way. The Rockies prepare to face the Diamondbacks and Braves on this homestand before heading out to Arizona to begin a 7 game road trip.
