I can answer this for ya.

Game 11

Houston Cougars at Cincinnati Bearcats
Mar 4, 2006123456789RHE
Houston (6-7)0000200103144
Cincinnati (8-3)00001004x5100
W: R. Tatford (1-0) L: J. Dickson (0-1) S: R. Ifft (5)

Well, it took awhile for the Bearcat bats to come to life, but eventually they did en-route to a 5-3 win. Taking advantage of a new Houston pitcher in the 8th, after their starter was owning the Cats, Cincinnati started putting the ball in to play. Houston's defense also fell apart in the 8th, which allowed 4 Bearcat runs. Logan Parker, Alan Hook, and Adam Zito all drove in runs for the Nati, and that was all that was needed. Freshmen closer Ross Ifft came in and sealed the deal with his 5th save of the season.

On a negative note, the Bearcats are without catcher AJ Zito, who pulled his groin in that explosive 8th, and he is day to day.

Houston (6-8)000000001162
Cincinnati (9-3)00300410x8140
W: N. Buscemi (3-0) L: B. Jansen (1-2)

It was all Bearcats all day, as they complete the sweep of the Houston Cougars. Starting and winning pitcher Nick Buscemi had a solid 7 inning outing, allowing 4 hits, no runs, and 3 k's. Cincinnati almost had a shutout, but allowed a solo homerun in the 9th to put the Cougars on the board. Defense doomed the Cougars once again, as they put up 2 errors in the 6th and allowed the Bearcats to have a big 4 run inning. Logan Parker, and Brian Szarmach both drove in 2 runs, while Alan Hook planted a ball 393 feet from home plate for a 2 run homerun.

W: J. Simon (1-3) L: J. Henley (3-1) S: C. Tessmer (1)

The Bearcats were unable to get anything going for starting pitcher Justin Henley. The defense behind him struggled, allowing 2 errors 5th inning that plated 3 runs. Alan Hook continued his power hitting ways, belting another home run, his 4th of the year. The Bearcats threatened in the 9th inning, with Logan Parker moving George King to third after driving in Jon DeLuca, but got stuck on 3rd base as LaFringe Hayes flew out to left field to end the game.

The Bearcats were shut out, and swept by the South Carolina Gamecocks. S.C. drove a two run home run today off starter Sean Munninghoff in the first inning, and that's all they would need, as the 'Cats couldn't string the hits together at the right times to get and runs plated. Senior Logan Parker was the hitter of the game for the Bearcats, as he went 4-4 with a double.

Game 15

Cincinnati Bearcats at #18 Florida State Seminoles
Mar 11, 2006123456789RHE
Cincinnati (9-6)0002011004161
#18 Florida State (7-4)000310030790
W: D. Brohawn L: R. Tatford (1-1)

Cincinnati dropped their 3rd straight game, even though they strung together 16 hits. Too many missed opportunities marred the Bearcats, as they hung with the 18th Seminoles for much of the game. LaFringe Hayes had a breakout game, driving in 2 runs and getting 3 hits. Everyone in the lineup reached base safely, but too many runners were left on base. Stamina seems to be a factor for the Bearcats pitching staff, as starter Nick Buscemi only lasted 4 innings, giving up 3 earned runs.

Game 16

Cincinnati Bearcats at #18 Florida State Seminoles
Mar 12, 2006123456789RHE
Cincinnati (9-7)000000000070
#18 Florida State (8-4)010000000192
W: W. Moscow (1-0) L: K. Schrader (0-2) S: D. Brohawn (5)

It's not that the Bearcats got shut out, it's not that UC has now dropped 4 straight, but the big blow to the morale is that Junior leader Brian Szarmach left the game with a fractured arm sliding hard in to 2nd to break up a double play. The speedster and power hitter will miss the rets of his junior, as he will be taking a medical red shirt, on the eve of beginning Big East play. Team doctors are estimating Szarmach will be out 2-3 months, leaving a huge gap in the middle of the lineup.

On a positive note, starting pitcher Keven Schrader, starting in place of Justin Henley, had a solid outing, going 6.1 innings, and will be battling for a spot in the starter role with Sean Munninghoff struggling.

A Big East preview will be coming, as the Bearcats look to right the ship as they host Notre Dame in the first series of the Big east season.
