Ugh, he was called up but there were a string of transactions that got missed trying to sort through all the stuff I had saved up. Reimold is gone, Giles is in, Norris is up basically.

Jays Eye Future Without Beeston
SHI DAVIDI
SEPTEMBER 12 2014

As the Blue Jays' clock winds down on their very successful season, rumors have swirled on the future of the front office. While General Manager Alex Anthopoulos is surely a lock to return next year, Team President Paul Beeston has been mum on his plans for the next year.

"Well, some family time would be nice, but at the same time, I'd hate to leave without seeing this team win it all."

Paul Beeston walks into his office and takes a seat at his desk. He's got an old-fashioned Dell desktop running Windows XP, with just enough power to access the BEEST. Call him old fashioned, but he lives and breathes his job.

It would be odd, to step foot into the office without the familiar Paul Beeston aura. But it's a possibility the Jays may have to endure. The Blue Jays have been quietly grooming Alex Anthopoulos to take over for Beeston when the time comes, but if Anthopoulos takes over as president, the issue becomes who succeeds Anthopoulos at GM.

While assistant GM Tony LaCava appears content in his current role, Andrew Tinnish seems well poised to be a general manager at the major league level. His open mindedness and baseball sense as well as his tenure with the club have culminated in a general sense that Tinnish is "the guy." There isn't a shortage of other candidates, however. Names thrown out have ranged from Jason McLeod of the Chicago Cubs to Thad Levine of the Rangers, as well as David Forst and (Canadian) Farhan Zaidi of the Athletics, and Michael Girsch of the Cardinals.

The Blue Jays seem set to make the playoffs for the first time in 21 years. But the journey isn't over. With Paul Beeston considering riding off into the sunset, the organization faces uncertainty. No, the journey is just beginning for the Toronto Blue Jays.
