Current Month: December (NHL, NFL)

What is Digital Atlanta?

This is not just a baseball franchise dynasty. This is a Sports City Franchise Dynasty. This will include the MLB, NHL, NBA and NFL. As the season progresses, I will attempt to play and document a month per week or so (not a hard set schedule though). For each month, I will play the games related to that month for the teams that are playing.

Below is a month-by-month chart of what will be going on in each franchise as we progress:

Jan – NFL Playoffs, NBA Season, NHL Season, MLB Offseason trades
Feb – Super Bowl, NBA Season, NHL Season, MLB Spring Training Prep
Mar – NFL Offseason FA, NBA Season, NHL Season, MLB Spring Training Games
Apr – NFL Draft, NBA End Season/Playoffs, NHL Playoffs, MLB Season
May – NFL Offseason FA, NBA Playoffs, NHL Playoffs, MLB Season
Jun – NFL Offseason, NBA Playoffs/Finals, NHL Stanley Cup, MLB Season
Jul – NFL Offseason, NBA Offseason FA, NHL Offseason FA, MLB Season/Allstar break
Aug – NFL Sumer Camp, NBA Draft, NHL Draft, MLB Season
Sep – NFL Preseason, NBA Offseason, NHL Offseason, MLB Season
Oct – NFL Season, NBA Preseason/Season, NHL Preseason/Season, MLB Playoffs/WS
Nov – NFL Season, NBA Season, NHL Season, MLB Offseason FA
Dec – NFL Season, NBA Season, NHL Season, MLB Offseason FA/trades

Things will start off with October and the NHL Preseason. MLB will begin in March with the release of MLB The Show 17. So between now and when The Show releases in late march, I will go thru the NHL and NBA parts of the franchise. I probably wont' start the NFL until the next season. I have already simed thru the 2017 season so it will be ready to start with the NFL offseason come March. For the NBA franchise, I'm beginning it with the "Start Today" option. So that will pickup when we get to February. These first few months will probably move slow as I get situated. I only want to get up to March by the time MLB The Show 17 drops.

Below are individual posts for each sport to keep them up to date. Likewise, I will also be making new posts as things progress over time.

My plan is to try to stream most games on twitch. You can find me on twitch at http://www.twitch.tv/mrcpugeek

Ok, I think that about covers it. Wish me luck! I will be starting things up hopefully tonight as the Flames make their return to Atlanta!

The Atlanta Braves
The Atlanta Braves Franchise will begin in April with the release of MLB The Show 17. More details to come!

The Atlanta Flames

The Flames moved to Calgary in 1980 leaving Atlanta without a hockey team until 1999 when the Thrashers were added as a NHL expansion team. They were sold in 2011 to a group that moved that team to Winnipeg.

Well, in the 2016 NHL season, two teams have made moves. The Florida Panthers relocated to Oklahoma City and were rebrands as the Knights. And, The Calgary Flames have returned home to Atlanta! The Knights and Flames traded divisions so the Flames are in the Atlantic Division, while the knights moved to the Pacific Division.

Gameplay information
Using: NHL 17.
Periods: 6 minutes
Difficulty: Pro (Yes, I know, but trust me, it is very completive for my skill level)
Sliders (Will be posted soon)
Play style:
I admit, when it comes to front office/management of hockey, that is not a strong point for me. So I have this franchise setup to let the CPU handle finances and lines, etc. I may change that if I get more comfortable with those aspects of hockey. But for now, I'm going to focus on game play. I will play out all games that are on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The games on the other days will be simmed. I may play those out in CPU mode if I have time while at work, but I will just have to see.

Flames win first preseason game back in Atlanta!

The Flames got off to a great start by winning their first preseason game against the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 in Detroit.

The flames ended preseason with a 4-0 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
