Re: MLB's Newest General Manager-The Career and Legacy of Robert Osmond

Tigers and Dodgers come together on yet another blockbuster trade. Tigers trade SP Jordan Zimmermann (Age 30, 82OVR, B Potential) and RP Joe Jimenez (Age 22, 77OVR, B Potential) to the Dodger for SP Scott Kazmir (Age 33, 78OVR, B Potential), SP/RP Ross Stripling (Age 27, 75OVR, B Potential), and RP Yimi Garcia (Age 26, 80OVR, B Potential).

"Getting Stripling and Garcia was the key in this trade. Kazmir was added to offset the salaries being exchanged. We have also move Ross Stripling from RP to SP and have inserted him into our starting rotation."-Statement from Tigers' GM Robert Osmond

Tigers move Ross Stripling from relief pitcher to starting pitcher, his overall rating increases from 75 to 78.

Re: MLB's Newest General Manager-The Career and Legacy of Robert Osmond

Updated Tigers' Spring Training Position Battles

1) Starting Rotation spots locked down by Verlander (unless traded), Fulmer, Stripling, and Norris. One spot up for grabs. Battle is between Scott Kazmir and Ubaldo Jimenez.

2)Bullpen spots locked down by Wilson, Givens, Garcia, and Romo (unless traded but right now is highly unlikely as team is looking to enter regular season with him as their closer). Spots up for grabs. Battles are between Hardy, Hart, Rondon, and Greene.

3)Starting DH. Battle is between Davis and Martinez (unless traded and right now team is finding difficulty finding a team willing to take him on).

4)Second Base. Battle is between Harrison and Moroff (team would prefer Moroff as it would then allow them to flip/trade Harrison for even more prospects).

5)Utility Infielder. Battle is between Infante and Romine.

6)4th Outfielder. Battle is between Collins, Jones, and Lough. Lough currently has the lead following yesterday's stellar game in the win against Braves in which he hit game tying home run in bottom of the ninth.

Re: MLB's Newest General Manager-The Career and Legacy of Robert Osmond

Tigers finally find trade partner for 1B/DH Victor Martinez in Yankees. Tigers trade 1B/DH Victor Martinez (Age 38, 81OVR, A Potential) and JaCoby Jones (Age 24, 70OVR, B Potential) to the Yankees for LF Brett Gardner (Age 33, 81OVR, B Potential).

Tigers immediately move Brett Gardner from LF to CF. His rating increases from 81OVR to 82OVR. Most importantly Tigers finally solve their center field problem.

"Getting Gardner was huge for us. In Gardner we acquired a solid veteran starter in center field and a excellent leader off batter. We are thrilled to welcome Brett Gardner to the Detroit Tigers' family and look forward to having him play for us."-Statement from Tigers' GM Robert Osmond
